The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Any deals in Canada for games? Had Drive Club Pre-ordered added Killzone. Only other games I want really are 2K and maybe Knack.

Oh and to whoever said this release line up sucks... My only game for the longest time when PS3 came out was Ridge Racer 7, then Heavenly Sword so at least I have options lol.

I have been looking for any and cant find anything. Nothing in Future Shop or Targets Canadian flyers. Nothing in EB's either.

Might have to wait another week.

When are Rusty and Noblekane back? Far too few bans/suspensions for a console release.

Are we growing up?

I used to use the PS3's media capabilities A LOT. The system recognized a decent amount of common formats. I transferred music from various devices and ripped some of my CD's to the system. Never streamed anything though. I transferred videos to my PS3 too. I used my PS3 for these purposes until I connected my computer to an HDTV. It's a bummer to lose that.

Really just the music though. I've never really taken advantage of games with custom soundtracks, but I had to for Tony Hawk HD. I only liked maybe 3 of those songs. GTA could of really used a custom radio station to play music from our systems too. I'm beyond exhausted of the music in that game. Hopefully Sony patches it in down the line.

Listen, I'd love to have Knife Party's Power Glove on repeat while I crush Red Bull playing BF4.... but I'll survive.

I used it heavy with Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Not enough for me to cancel my order but it sucks that I'm stuck with their soundtracks for now. I know they're trying to push that Music Unlimited but still.. I'm going to take advantage of their 30 day trial and see how I like it. I just know they don't have all the types of music I listen to(mixtapes/reggae, etc).

Yeah. Those music streaming services are mainly for people who listen to top 40 radio.

I doubt they're going to have a vast collection of Calypso and Soca music. I won't be listening to The Mighty Gabby or Red Plastic Bag on Music Unlimited. They probably won't have The Diplomats Vol. 1-5 mixtapes either. :{

The only games I really used custom music from MP3's stored on my internal PS3 hard drive was: Gran Turismo 5 and MLB The Show games.

It helped a lot when playing GT5 four 5+ or longer hours because of the crazy endurance races :lol

GT5 literally put my OG fat 60GB PS3 on life support :lol Glad I was still able to sell it on craigslist for $450 back in 2010 while it still worked.I told the dude up front what condition it was in before selling it to him and dude still wanted it and was willing to pay that price for it mainly because of the full backwards compatibility, a feature that I hardly used on the OG 60GB PS3 and really felt was a over hyped up luxury feature with the fat PS3 models.

Sony Integrating PSN Into Sony Rewards
Your time spent on PSN is finally going to pay off.
by Mike Mahardy OCTOBER 31, 2013
A new, PlayStation specific program is being incorporated into Sony's Rewards program that will reward players specifically for spending money on PSN games and downloads.

For every $1 spent on PSN, players will receive one point to go toward more games, PlayStation Store cash, PS Plus memberships, Sony hardware and more, according to the PlayStation blog. These points can also carry over to Sony products at online retailers such as Game Stop, Best Buy and Target.

Sony recently announced the options non-PS Plus members have on the upcoming PlayStation 4, and the options those players have once the console releases.

Lot of stores that I can name of the top of my head have rewards programs.

Rewards programs are lame.

The amount of time you put in is never worth the "reward."

They should just offer more and better deals like Amazon does.

Chris is slacking not even mentioning you can't run Linux on the PS4. WE COULD DO THIS OUT OF THE BOX IN 2006!!!

I'm disgusted and am canceling my pre-order.
C'mon brah, don't jump ship.

Wait... did you not see this sarcasm or were you being sarcastic too? :lol

Nah, he faked me out on that one :lol
