Isn't gta technically an rpg?
Bethesda and Bioware are lucky R* doesn't delve into fantasy or Sci-Fi games. Playing GTA V in FPS mode makes you appreciate how detailed their worlds are. If R* were to make a Fantasy game it would put a lot of companies, especially Bethesda out of business. This is easily the most detailed and populated open world game ever created.
It is "technically" but a lot of people don't consider it because it takes place in a contemporary setting and doesn't have the traditional skill upgrades that include magic, upgrades, etc.

I'd say that's a bit much

No. Bethesda hasn't managed to create a open world to rival Rockstar's efforts in their entire history.

Did you play GTA V last gen? Just curious. For me, it's still a remake. First person view, more music, graphical upgrades don't make it different game. That being said, I'm not against remakes, it's on the consumer if they want to pay again. I just didn't care for GTA V's story and the I only wanted heists for the MP but we never got them (I hear R* say we're getting them next so we'll see).No. Bethesda hasn't managed to create a open world to rival Rockstar's efforts in their entire history.
PC Mods are the only thing keeping Elder Scrolls games alive.
