lowest three teams should not be eligible to get a top 3 pick
can't incentivize losing and going into tank mode
league needs to figure it out

Kobe played more games in that 17-65 season than LeBron or AD did this year. Why are they trying to make it seem like he was out
this goes to show that Kobe is the Laker Goat. played more games and heart inspite of being in the twilight of his career for a rebuilding team. unlike the 2022 Lakers squad that was built to win it all and ended up being eliminated even in the charity game for losers.

What if teams are just legitimately bad lol
Define “legitimately”? The Thunder and Blazers were bad to begin with; but for the last couple months they’ve actively tried not to play their best players. Rolling out G-league teams every night.

An NBA team is going to be pretty bad when it’s not playing NBA caliber personnel.

The 17-18 OKC Thunder won 48 games and were the 4th seed. The 2021-22 Nuggets have won *checks notes* 48 games and are the 6th seed.
I was figuratively referring to their performance as a super team losing to a team led by a rookie.

then make it a real lottery system with equal chances to all teams. if they are bad, then boo-hoo. try developing their young players and play better or hire some international players that other teams don't care about drafting. teams now are not doing their job of making their teams better but rather draft players based on media hype. remember when Kukoc, Tony Parker and Manu were drafted late but turned out to be future superstars? those were all due to proper scouting and player development. gone are those days I guess.

You kinda gotta tank harder now because of these things
Don't tank hard enough and you'll find yourself in the play-in
And because of the flattened odds there's actually more competition for the worst spots
Not to blame the 6ers but the reaction to The Process really made it seem like tanking was worse than it actually was

I don't know if you can stop every team from tanking. The bottom 5 teams in the league will always tank in sports with a draft that provides teams with the worst records with higher draft picks. Even the bottom teams in the NFL, NHL, MLB tank. The play-in game has curbed tanking a lot. Without the play-in the Pelicans, Spurs, Hornets, and Hawks might have started tanking.

If you have a draft system where all non-playoff teams have an equal chance:

1. teams near the bottom of the playoff ranking will tank to be in the lottery. You'd see teams like Atlanta, New Orleans, Charlotte, etc tanking to be in the lottery

2. The truly awful, talent-less teams would essentially be locked into perputal mediocrity because it would be much harder for them to get good prospects.

Pels still compete for Zion. The others prob start the tank sooner

Yannis still the mvp.

Ant’s chase for 50 was more reason to think he’sa low iq player & Minny will forever be a losing franchise. Idc what he crowd wanted.
