IMO, this shoe has to be laced up and tied correctly in order to give it the best look. I don't think the un-tied, take a lap around the mall, is going to work on this one.

He still has them factory laced in the recent pic, and you can see which piece would move downwards if he actually tied them.

That's exactly what I was thinking....it looks like they'll need to be tied up fairly snug. Not a problem with me, because that's how I wear them. But I feel bad for the dudes who love the loosey-goosey spaghetti look.

They look like they feel godly too.

On the shin though??

kd 7 - i have sold every single kd iver ever purchased. shoes are just to cheap feeling

Kobe 9's are part of Last Season's group (Bron XI, KD VI)... we have yet to see the Kobe X's.

Hoping they're better than 9's though.

Opinions can change and fluctuate over time and I predict that the vast majority of people saying that they are passing on this model will be back in buying mode around the X-mas colorway drops.

We just used the Kobe 9 since the X doesn't drop until February.

I agree and I ain't feeling 'em, the shoe looks like it's missing the rest if itself. Another colorway may sway me but I doubt it

Similar design to the LeBron 9 and elite 9.

But....

Jordan 7 was similar to the 6.

Goes to show, Nike designers stay lazy.

In defence of shoe designers (not just with Nike but anywhere), I have to figure it's pretty tough coming up with something really new in 2014. It's pretty much all been done as far as athletic shoes go. But considering that, I think they've come up with something pretty fresh for the XII.....and I think any similarity to the IX really isn't that strong.

It's the dynamic fit upper, it's pretty much a sock liner, like a hyperrev, crusader, etc.

I know what you mean about something missing.... I have cw's and the shape it will probably have on my foot pictured in my head, so I'm trying to stay positive and block this Dolphin cw out  

Not to get all Yeezy/KD on this shoe, but it does look like it could have used a strap.  I'm positive that different colorways will do wonders for this shoe though.  

I wish they would utilize Solar Red and have it either as a release or as an ID option.  None of this laser crimson...I need something to replace the 8's which I'm close to beating into the ground

The sole reminds me of the Jordan xxi or xx2. The heel zoom looks like it was pulled from a sb dunk insole because it has the same shape. The pods in the forefoot look like they all have their own independent zoom bags in a hexagon shape. By the looks of it, the zoom will be integrated into the sole so I'm guessing they will go with a standard insole or lunarlon. LeBron had issues with the setup in the xi which prob stems from the lunarlon + zoom insole since he uses orthotics for his messed up feet. I'm guessing Nike is trying to tailor the shoe more to that setup than the xi setup.

Bingo. Look see samples. Always different versions. It's cool to see the creative process IMO.

Love the Zoom Pods, and the Icy Blue sole.  Really not feeling the large floppy tongue, and that cheap looking football cleat type of collar.  That would be annoying.  If these didn't have the huge tongue, and that obnoxious overdesigned plastic collar, also were mids?  I'd definitely pick them up.

Love the colorway however.  Miami Heat should've always had a Dolphins / Miami Vice colorway, and not hitching their wagon to the Chicago Bulls / Michael Jordan color scheme due to their popularity in the late 80s, and early 90s.  

With turquoise, white, orange flames ... it would've suited the city, and the team colors a lot better.  Something like this would've been actually unique:
