I did not start wearing adidas until boost because they were always narrow and uncomfortable to me but the new adidas stuff is really taking over. Nike has nothing to match it especially at the price point. I do like my kobe xi and KD 9 arent bad but thats about it. I plan on giving the hyoerdunk flyknit a try buy at $200 there is no way u can justify that price vs any boost model.
Also primeknit being a rip off to the plasic underlay flyknit?? Hahahaha...no point in a logical discussion with you. Continue your bliss

If they bring back the AZGs with original materials much like remastered Js, oooohhhweeeee I'm in. They will probably charge $175 for them but the nostalgia alone would be worth it - even though I was able to get them for $89.99 back in the day

Hard to say. There is definitely nobody in the pipeline that is remotely close to Lebron caliber, and the most interesting guys are signed with other brands. Ben Simmons has great potential as a signature athlete based on his handles and passing ability, but he needs to learn to shoot and become a bona fide superstar first.

I agree. That's why I said it's crazy if you think Adidas and UA won't start playing catch up. My nephew and his friends are in 6th grade and they only want Currys. Obviously that's a very small, unscientific study of that demo, but it appears Nike doesn't have the stronghold on that age group now like they did when I was that age.
I'd like to see someone like Porzingis get a sig because I feel like he could crossover sell crazy in Europe as well as get some sales here, plus it'd be different, but I doubt it happens. Maybe if he goes off next year but would be cool.

D Lillard is another guy who I think is a perfect signature athlete right now. Harden sort of as well, but his game isn't visually what you'd hope for and his personality has issues too.
I'm all about Porzingis, but the fact remains, big guys don't sell shoes. Especially big white guys who shoot really well but don't exactly rack up the highlight reel clips. If Dirk and Tim Duncan weren't signature worthy, it's hard to see the Zinger getting there, although I'm very excited for his career.
Nike messed up real bad when they lost Steph, and the superiority of Boost cushioning is another thing that should keep their execs up at night. But they still have 2 of the top 3 signature guys (KD and Lebron) and I still feel their design aesthetic is better than Adidas and UA in most cases. They just have to rectify the screw ups that were the KD 8 and Lebron 13. I think they're off to a good start with the KD 9.

I think KP could wor with a shoe. He has sort of a signature put back dunk and is a very good interview. Very likeable. Active on social media as well. Would have to be Nike though for marketing exposure.

Put back dunks, alley oops and whatever does not get it done though. If it did you would've seen a lot of big guys do great with signatures, but that hasn't been the case. There is a reason Anthony Davis does not have a sig, and why KG's shoe never did much and Shaq's shoe career is pretty forgettable. The top signature guys have all been guards or small forwards that slash to the basket, shoot from deep, and handle the ball all the time.

Europeans aren't into basketball sneakers like N.Americans are, a Porzingis signature would actually sell more units in NY than all of Europe let alone Latvia.
Curry's overall durability and health will determine how successful his sneaker line up will be. Right now he's only on his third signature, once you get to this 6th or 7th signature then you can say that UA struck gold with him.

Shaq had quite a few signature shoes on Reebok before doing his own discounted shoe. I know guards are more relatable to the general public but there is a place for big men in the market.

I know it's a long shot, but I'd like to see Isaiah Thomas be the next sig. Nike has to still be upset about the emergence of Curry, so it would make sense to try and capitalize on the popularity of the "short three-shooter" build. Plus, he's on the perfect team. Again, I know he's not the best player in the league, but would just be interesting to see.

Ya but what tech what they market for another small guy? They have quickness and traction with kyrie, and flyknit lowtops with kobe. A new cushion or nike free in more shoes? Nike needs a new foam. Lunarlon is my fav but bottoms out too fast. Something low profile and responsive. Would be perfect for IT too.
