THE OFFICIAL NIKE KOBE FOOTWEAR THREAD: RIP LEGEND 1978-2020. MAMBA FOREVER | 8-24-24

Didn't Nike make the Elites because they were for Kobe? Now that he's retired, what's the point of doing a flyknit version?

So because Kobe has retired from the game of basketball Nike should just say blank the Elite/flyknit version?

Nike knows whats good...flyknit models will come...they better at least

Nike usually does an elite version of their sig models - but since Kobe has retired who knows if they'll FK the AD?

At $160 for a 'non-elite' version is way too much.  How much will they charge for a FK version? $175-$185? That's pricing a lot of us out of the market.

I mean I know it's just a gimmick, but the Elite version was made to improve upon the regular for that player. If Kobe isn't playing anymore, why should he need an elite model?

I think Derozan has taken the mantle for Kobes line. He would benefit as well as other athletes that wear them.

There's only 1 person who can tell us if there will be a flyknit version, too bad he doesn't drop by anymore.

I don't think people rated the Vs that high on traction/durability to begin with when they originally dropped. Those would be my two gripes with the shoe too, although I still love the Vs regardless cuz of how they look and how well they fit my feet. I don't remember having any major issues with the herringbone traction on the IVs.
I was going to say this about the traction.  If anything, traction was the issue people complained about the most.

They couldn't put killer traction on them because then they would have been the perfect shoe.  Nike (and other companies) very rarely releases perfect shoes.  Off the top of my head I can only think of the Zoom BB.  Full length real zoom, comfortable, great traction, looked good and low price.

^^^ Jet Flight. But I agree on the Zoom BB. AND good materials.

Loved the fit and cushioning of the Zoom BB (bought the BB2's as well but the fit on those were way too clunky) but I do recall being less than thrilled with the suede upper, way too soft for my taste.

Funny I took a break from the AD's today decided to wear my Hyperrev 16's while playing ball and immediately regretted it. Just don't feel comfortable in shoes that use softer materials, back to the AD's and 11's I go.

Just noticed some minor separation in the left toe...

Will probably send back to Nike, don't want this to escalate into something more severe.

Sure are a lot of damn QC issues. I don't remember hearing about as many problems with the XI, maybe they really did cut some corners with this one.

Finally played in mine this morning.

1st game: fit kinda lose which in turn didn't really give me the traction that I needed. Wearing the Elite Versatility low sock.

2nd game: wore an Elite Cushioned No Show running shock on top (I have a very narrow foot).

Fit

Traction improved a lot. Every Gane after that the shoe was very comfortable & I didn't have to think about them unlike the first time I tried to play in my XI's. I'm 6'3", 225 so I play in the post & drive a lot. Can't wait to play in them again on Saturday.

Conclusion: little dudes, don't get this shoe.

I saw the one reviewer who had the issue with outrigger, but other than that what other issues have people been reporting with the AD? I've had faulty glue issues on shoes in the past, it happens unfortunately.

one person (with pictures) said he got his shoes with a piece of the outrigger torn off and laying on top of the shoe (same piece that broke off for Jahron) and someone commented I think on a NW video that that piece broke off for them as well.

Not enough issues yet to say for sure
