THE OFFICIAL NIKE KOBE FOOTWEAR THREAD: RIP LEGEND 1978-2020. MAMBA FOREVER | 8-24-24

I really don't watch reviews videos especially from dudes who aren't good at ball

Just being honest

That's a good one lol! I just like the saying lol sliced bread can honestly be underrated.

I'm not saying a full zoom unit isn't better than the lunar setups but I just think the sneaker reviewers overrate it. I personally like the lunarlon in the forefoot and zoom on the heel. The only issue really for me with lunarlon is that it bottoms out quickly.

Too each their own just my personal opinion.

Do you play serious basketball? Or just casual wear

Full zoom is the most overrated thing since sliced bread.

Full length Zoom is the best cushioning system Nike has to offer in my opinion... as far as durability, impact protection and court feel I can't name a better setup from Nike [emoji]128064[/emoji]

Heel, forefoot Zoom and a nice carrier is all you need. If you get full Zoom for the same price as heel/forefoot then I wouldn't mind it.

I like heel and forefoot Zoom too, my point being was you can't go wrong with Zoom. [emoji]128514[/emoji]

One thing is if you can't jump and aren't quick it doesn't really matter what cushioning set up you have as long as it has traction and doesn't hurt your feet. That's pretty much Nightwing, that's why I take his reviews with a grain of salt. That's why it's funny for people to take his reviews so seriously when you have dozens of NBA and college players playing in them.

Small players who jump don't like Lebron cushioning in the toe and to be that high off the ground.

Nah fam... it matters. And NBA players also have orthopedic insoles made to make that shoe as comfortable as possible. If you noticed, whenever a player gives his shoes away to a fan they usually pull their insoles out before they hand them off.

Have u hooped in a pair yet? why are u still in this thread if u dont like the shoe?

Cushioning definitely matters, even though NW might not dunk or elevate much on his jumpshots, he has complained about knee pains when the cushioning terrible.

I am not defending everything NW does or say but I can vouch for this, I am far from a high flyer but I am getting up there in age and if the cushioning is bad, my knees will definitely feel it for a few days.

And full-length-zoom like the ones found on the Kobe XI ID is still one of my favorites and wish that set-up was standard on the XIs so I could stack up.

If the Kobe line does continues alternating between built-in midsole and drop-in midsole then I hope whatever comes after the AD has a full-length zoom drop-in.

Can't complain about a forefoot and heel zoom combo though, especially Jordans unlocked forefoot zoom, I am just not sure why JB do not add a heel zoom with it but the XXXI with it's unlocked full zoom feels great.

I'm in this thread because I can be in this thread.

What does me not hooping in the shoe have to do with "Cushioning matters in a shoe" and "NBA players have orthopedic insoles"? [emoji]128514[/emoji]

These are facts, not opinions.

Yah some NBA players get special shoes/set-up, like Kyrie having forefoot zoom on his 2s and likely his 3s as well.

Lol exactly my point. Hoop in a pair before u start knocking them! Nike has the best return policy around...

Where exactly did I say anything bad about the performance of this shoe? All I said was CUSHIONING MATTERS and NBA PLAYERS USE SPECIAL INSOLES.

I've played in the Kobe 10 elite highs and they have the exact same cushioning set up, and I love that shoe.

So where exactly are you coming from and what are you trying to prove? [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

I think he was saying that if you're not quick or explosive, then the responsiveness of a cushion doesn't matter. If you're a small, quick type, at some point court feel/response starts to trump soft cushion.

NW can enjoy very soft cushion because it's not like he's trying to use his explosive first step anyway.

What does the insole have to do with the support and lock down of a shoe? What about traction?

An Ibsole is just that, an insole

Well nightwing said the lock down was a plus on this shoe... so I'm assuming NBA players feel the same way. My statements about the insoles were for the point of the cushioning or lack there of.

Jahron always sounds like he is talking to a class of kindergarten students or like he is making a presentation at an ESL class.

I understand this is likely an attempt to be as clear as possible and avoid answering the same dumb questions over and over but it makes it feel like the guy is talking down to you.

I see the review game as such:

-weartesters : no athletes, sole collector style news feed website , brand collaborations,  perks .....

" but but but you can still trust us"
laugh.gif

-kicks genius : have decent athleticism but try to sell their subscribers everything, are bought by champs,  perks,  arrogance.

" if you love lil yachty and drake, you can trust us "

- foamer : " did it come with a big check and does it have lots of cushioning?......yes?   Ok....these are veddy nice"

- sole bros

never In my life have I seen people take something up professionally,  that had less knowledge in their chosen feild, than these two numb nuts

- hoop and life  :  seems like a nice guy..........................who stays up at night analyzing kicks genius videos and then blatantly copying them.

Dear tre, you still aint called or wrote, I know you had the chance.

All any of these dudes are concerned with is banking off ad revenue. While they may have started with honest intentions the conflict of interest in reviewing products from companies they take checks and gifts from, has to be considered.

Its a shame the sole bros are collectively dumber than a bag of hammers as they are probably the most honest

Sole Bros tells you all the info you can only know from wearing the shoe. Usually I come in knowing most of the facts they miss anyway.

All I want to hear from any of these people is how the shoe performed for them in the most detail. What difference does the rest make really?

I wasn't referring just to this shoe, I meant in general with the insole remark

To be honest Kobe used the original insoles that came in the shoes that last few years and did NOT wear special insoles

He has a new shoe every game though. He doesn't deal with bottomed lunar

Kick Genius youtube comments are THE WORST.
