feel like at this point nike can put the kobe logo on the sketcher Shape Ups and call them the Kobe 12s and folks here would still buy them.

Got the 'Precisions' but sitting until the FK NXTs release this Summer (unless FK HTMs release).  Uninspired (like the 10s all over again).

It's definitely bulkier than the V/VI but not too much heavier. No major drawback with a few ounce difference.

The Kobe 8 didn't do anything for you? They were the lightest Kobe to date.

Thank you for the reply! I tried so hard to love the kobe 8! i have multiple pairs just sitting there DS. I've injured my arch twice landing after jumping to where it became swollen. I definitely have to contribute that to the lunar removable insole. I cannot do removable anymore like the 11. I love heel and forefoot zoom so much and the VI truly does mold to your feet. yeah the 8's were light just not great for the impact protection though for me personally.

From the back of the midsole to the front is bulky but you don't notice it too much on feet. The upper is thicker than last year's EM too. IMO they're better in terms to quality and value to price ratio than last year's base model.

How does the AD compare to the 9 em.

Ad's look like a step above the 10 mesh but I'm not sure on the 9 ems

AD upper is probably little more durable hence why it doesn't have the clear overlay around the toe guard. They are fairly close in softness. Wonder which light colored upper stains easier.

Got to try on the AD at my local HOH today and I must say they felt pretty good. It felt like a quality shoe, the cushioning is kinda stiff but you can tell it's one of those that will break in real nicely and mold to your foot shape. It almost felt like the lunar in the Kobe IV but way more dense and reinforced. I really wanted to pull the trigger but I've spent too much on shoes recently and I'll probably wait for one of the GRs to go on discount.

I actually think another downside to the 8, other than the lunar bottoming out so quickly, is the overall construction of the shoe. It's almost too flexible to the point where it doesn't protect your feet or ankles from those awkward landings and situations. Obviously flexibility is a good thing, but I feel like too much flexibility takes away from the sturdy foundation that can keep your feet stable, supported, and protected in those situations as well. I love the support in the more recent models and I can honestly say I don't mind sacrificing that extra weight for more support and impact protection.

I feel ya. You don't want to have too stiff a shoe to the point where the transition is terrible.  Early reviews indicate that the AD's have this issue.

I've never had issues with stability with the 8's.  I'm pretty much a quick guard who is always on the move i.e. the less weight/restrictiveness the better.  For me this shoe just worked.

The later models (X, XII and probably XII) seem to be more focused on impact protection and stability.  As a guard I hate being high off the ground and if that means sacrificing cushioning, so be it. 

I think the KD9's have the best of both worlds though, court feel and cushioning.  Although stability is an issue IMO.

Seems like Nike have a shoe for each criteria:

Kyrie - Traction

Kobe - Court feel/comfort

LeBron - Big mobiles

KD - Mix of Kobe/LeBron

I'm a Nike loyalist and refuse to wear Adidas haha.. but I can't even front that Adidas have been KILLING it lately.  Designs look good, cushioning is great and traction is excellent.  Reminds of Nike in the early 00's.  IMO the Kobe's designs are trash, but if they are performance beasts i'll always look the other way.

Thinking of picking a pair of Peak TP4's... now i'm going off topic! Sorry folks.

Yeah that totally makes sense, I'm 6'4 and I play like a SF/PF so that's why I prefer the stability and impact protection. I've been thinking about trying out the Lillard 2's.. reviews are good and the price is nice too

You need a kobe 9 if ya love traction and a comfy minimal shoe with some of the best court feel around. Any variation is good but id go either elite high or em for a bare basics shoe and the lunarlon insole is a bit thicker than the 8 too.
