you have to pay shipping so if you try for that and get denied then your just throwing money away

but the way your describing, you're just trying to take advantage of the system...

i think everyone would be taking advantage of this if it was doable. people would just send things back for vouchers instead of trying to sell on ebay and etc depending on the shoes! 

I'm sure it can be abused, but I wouldn't recommend crying wolf too much. I purchase at least 20 pairs of nikes a year for personal use (work out daily), be it running shoes or hoops shoes, not counting retros and other shoes I get to wear casually and to work sometimes.

I'd say on average I get a pair a year that just has a defect like the sole comes apart with regular use, air bag pops, seam comes apart, etc.

I had a bad year this year, two pairs of Jordan 30's (black pair and launch color) came apart at the exact same flex points after hooping in each for about a week. Sent them back no problems. Kobe AD came apart at toe, sent them back. Didnt have any problems of any of my other shoes. And thats like 4 pairs of Kobe XI, numerous pegasus and vomeros, hyperdunks, jordan 31, etc. No problems, just a few isolated ones.

I don't really worry about getting denied, it's only in these cases of manufacturing defects that I send the shoes back. Good to know it's there, especially for us that purchase a ton of shoes every year.

do you go through 20 pairs of shoes every year or just buy them for different outfits or something? what kind of workouts are you doing.. i workout 3x a week and my shoes last for years lol.  also what kind of work are you doing where you can wear retros and sneakers

i wonder if most of the shoes have these sort of manufacturing "flaws" but since most people wear the shoes casually, they never put much stress on the shoes and mess anything up

Just a word of caution, regarding damaged air units. Here's my experience:

I returned a pair of 6 month old black Jordan 2010's, air unit had deflated on one shoe. On that one Nike said they found
no manufacturing issues and denied the claim. They found a small piece of metal embedded in the outsole which pierced the sealed air unit.
Fair enough so I told Nike to just scrap them.

The second pair was a pair of KD V's about 14 months old. Again the air unit failed on one shoe.
Again I got denied. They found no manufacturing problems but they did discover a small hole in the side of air unit.
This time I asked them to return them and sure enough there was a tiny hole in the side of the air unit. They circuled it in marker for me.

Just thought I'd share my experience.

Exactly right, that's why I posted my experience. Sometimes you cannot locate the hole and you think it was a manufacturing
issue but it turns out otherwise.

so how did the KD V's get that hole in the side? it was something you did? 

also the black jordan 2010s aren't they still wearable with the deflated air unit? why not keep those?

I'm not sure how the KD V got the hole but it was very close to where the air unit meets the outsole near heel.

The 2010's could definitely not be worn after the air unit went flat. The air units are pressurized and once the air escapes you don't get any cushioning and second it made an annoying noise as you walked from the air being sucked in and out.

The main reason was Nike wanted to charge me for 12 for return shipping, I had already paid to ship them out so told I them to scrap and recycle.

He's done a few pair of customs for me but none have faded. A couple have been scuffed but that's normal wear & tesr from game action.

And I hoop at least twice a week, and I like to keep a few pairs in rotation. I sell them off or donate them when the time comes.

I wear suit and tie to work 66 percent of the time. When I'm on night shift (33%) or during down time on the other shifts I wear whatever I feel like for the most part, that's where the sneakers come in. Spend 60 hours a week at work so I make sure I'm comfortable and wear what I like.

nice. what type of work do you do. it sounds like its a professional/office desk type job? If so, that's cool you can wear sneakers to a place like that. 

Which type of runners or shoes would you suggest that are also like under $100. I do incline treadmill about 13 miles a week. It's not even running more like really fast walking. Currently using some really old adidas running shoes. I'm thinking of getting some roshes, adidas alphabounce, or something else to use just as treadmill shoes. But, if I'm going to spend like $90+ on them, I don't know if I might as well just get a pair of PG 1s or kyrie 3s and use those as treadmill shoes..i'm assuming bball shoes should be good for treadmill as well? The adidas I'm using are pretty cheap like $40 ones from 5 years ago.. been using em for 2 years and they're starting to wear out a bit but still usable! Probably much less wear on shoes you only use for treadmill vs. running outside!
