The Official Nike Air Max 90 Thread

Yeah I like turqs but will have to pass considering everything else that I need to copp like purples, royals, infrared and the rumored chlorophyll (granted they come out good). Somethings gotta be sacrificed lol. And I only wore my Aqua AM1 like once so.

i want another pair!!! def not keeping these in the original box. went with a 12w and they do have a little room but i have wide feet so theyre good.
50 shades of Purple! Lol Why do the other colorways have matching panels and these dont? Turquoise and out for me!

What’s the fit like on these newer og type colorways. Thinking about copping a few colors. I remember I couldn’t wear the infrared release from like 2009 and would have to buy an 11 in 95s. I have a wide foot but have been buying sz10s for the past couple of yrs and it works.

Going to grab a pair of turquoise for mom, and a pair of infrareds for myself. Maybe a pair of volts and laser blues too. Can’t do all the mismatched purples, that’s a shame.

Both pairs arrived today for me

Both are okay quality wise, the box is a good look but you gotta jam the sneakers in to make them fit again

I love the volts way more than the purple but both will get serious wear this spring/summer!

Shape is on point!!
Waiting for my footlocker to get their pairs in. I live in Iowa so we are basically the last state to get pairs..........it’s miserable.

I have a few questionS if y’all don’t mind, I Want to get this right.
first would you suggest angelus paint or just the sneakersER pen? If Angelus is the more permanent I’ll go that route.
If you go with sneakers er pen, is there any prep product? The shoes are clean but didn’t know if they sold a primer or something to apply after to seal it.
If I go the angelus route, there’s two infrared colors they sell which is best?
Other than the 2-hard is there any other primer or post paint product?
is the black flat or glossy?
Sorry if it’s a lot but I’ve decided to take this on and repaint all the upper plastic/rubber pieces. The midsole is actually good so I’m going to leave it. Adding a few pics for reference
Would you suggest painting over areas that aren’t in need of paint so everything matches better? Then back of one shoe is fine. 909D8DD8-F7A6-4DDF-9CF5-296AB2573462.jpeg 6A582905-AF86-47E1-8140-1F6CB79244EA.jpeg 15129E11-D72B-440C-B184-0F3873CD9827.jpeg 67AB5EDE-32D9-4250-BA3A-BE62D6EC90A9.jpeg
My only experience with painting sneakers is using Angelus paint, so I can’t compare the two. Although sneakersER seems to be similar as it is acrylic paint most likely with a flexible additive to prevent cracking.

For either, prep with acetone (nail polish remover is fine) but wear gloves because that **** goes through the skin, into the bloodstream in seconds then eventually to your liver. Long term it can mess you up. Also avoid any glue areas because acetone doesn’t just strip paint, it will dissolve glue.

Angelus sells 2 infrareds because they match the ‘00 and ‘14 AJ 6s. Not sure which matches your 90s best but Angelus is cheap enough I’d just get both.

You can buy adhesion promoter to help the paint stick. Auto stores, Walmart and model stores like Games Workshop sell it.

Don’t use flat paint, the duller additive weakens the paint and causes breakdown which leads to cracking. Instead Angelus sells a matte acrylic finisher to harden, water proof and crack proof the paint. It has a bit of shine so you’ll want to add a little duller to it.

You’ll probably want to paint everything because ether colors will be slightly different since your painted areas will be new and the painted could have faded slightly.

Got the 12W in and it’s big, as I expected. I have an 11W coming in from FNL eventually, so hopefully those work out or I’ll wait for a 10M if they ever release. The shape has definitely improved. No more boot feeling. This pair has some toe dents, but eh idc tbh, even if it was the pair to keep.

Men’s should release no later than the 30th from what I’ve seen around the internet. It’s coming just a matter of when.

Nah. The greens too dull. Then again in person who know. Only one way to find out...
Its no chlorophyll by any means, but army green isnt a bad consolation.

I dont understand why they cant just toss a few pennies in on the deal with a tongue tag and liner. Split soles should be mandatory. Like, instead of the solid choices just make those the splits and 86 the full soles. It cant cost more. Who the hell would want a full sole if the split was an option. Full looks stupid

Im probably going to end up with them despite all that but damn. Its just close enough to be annoying but not a dealbreaker. Just wouldve been really dope

^Nah, that's a Nike By You (NIKEiD) design.
Yeah i made it a couple hours ago. Pretty straight forward. Im surprised they let you get away with something so close to the official style tbh.

Looks like the other choices are taxi, dark red, and 4 others id have to go back and check.

*edit* nvm its just univ red, pink, and olive. Taxis dont have the wedge
