The Official Netflix Thread Tho: Recommend Streaming Movies

Shaolin Fantastic is the kid who starred in DOPE.

Shamiek Moore has a bright future.

need part 2 on the get down, finished all the episodes already

:Nthat

Just got into the show Shameless and I'm hooked. Frank Gallagher though is just such a piece of **** :{

:lol you're really behind

Nah, I hate musicals, too. It isn't really a musical. The music is usually pretty dope when it does pop up, and it usually takes place somewhere it makes sense like a party. They don't just break out into song or anything.:lol

I'm like 10 mins into the second episode. First episode was an hour and a half. Solid so far.

I'm convinced a lot of the early eviewers dislike or had no interest in hip hop

100% agreed. I was listening to a Collider review where they were going in on it. Said the acting was horrible, the characters weren't likable, the writing was bad. One of them went as far as to say that this is the worst thing Netflix has released in years. I have no clue what they were watching.

Some people are going to write it off immediately because it's rap and some are going to write it off immediately because it's Baz.

But how do you not understand the over the top Blaxploitation dialogue that pops up here and there, and the Kung Fu influence and why it's there? If you don't understand the history of Blaxploitation and Kung Fu on Hip Hop I don't think you should be reviewing this show...and there's a bunch of reviewers out there who don't understand and aren't willing to. Then there's the people who just don't have the same personal connection as I have, so I can respect that.

But the fact that this is on Netflix and will be seen in 190 countries...I'm sure there are so many people who go into it with an open mind and learn and appreciate the story.

Shameless is a top 5 favorite show.

I'm on episode 7 of Stranger Things....straight crack.

^^^^ Shameless is too damn :smokin plus Fiona is just :{ :smokin :evil :evil

I'm almost done with season four and once I am, I am going to add showtime to my cable so I can catch up for season 6 this fall.

Shameless has been underrated. I'm just glad that despite being on so long it hasn't gotten wack like Weeds and Californication.

Im not feeling the get down. this musical type theme just doesnt appeal to me. THanks for putting me on shameless tho, really funny :lol

Other than being about Music, The Get Down is far from a "musical" type

Star Wars is more of a musical than The Get Down

I finished The Get Down in two days.
Show is dope af. Def not a musical. It gets better as the show goes on.
I need part two.

I know this is the Netflix thread but anyone check out Amazon pilot season shows The Tick/ JCVJ/ I Love ****? haven't watched the last, but the first two seem cool.

I still can't get the Stranger Things hype, man.

I've tried 3 times and I just don't care for it. Maybe the 4th will be a charm

You're not alone. Not knocking it but I didn't see the greatness that everyone is claiming.

Just finished The Get Down . I enjoyed it for what it was. Pretty good but not great. If they don't pick it up for a season 2, I wouldn't be disappointed.

Same here, I think all the hype spoiled it. I went in watching it, expecting something incredible and it turned out to be just good.

Slow as hell to pick up, you gotta get about 10 eps deep before **** starts unfolding, but Bloodline is pure fire. I actually appreciate the slow pace after it ended because you were subliminally being indoctrinated to the family and their issues. By the time **** gets real you know who's who.
