The Official NBA Season Thread

SGA the MVP, in my books. But what Jok is doing, is out of this world.

He’d rightfully be like a 4X MVP, if it wasn’t for Kendrick Perkins :lol (of all people :rollin)

Premature…but Him & Giannis are going to end up top 20 (Giannis probably already there).

It’s crazy how the NBA media was decrying the “death of a big man”….meanwhile we are in the era of 2 of the best bigs to ever play the game (and other generational one in Wemby in the wings)

Crazy

In all fairness, Giannis isn't the traditional-type big (Back to Basket) that the NBA Media was referring to when they spoke on the Death of the Big Man.

He is a massive human being that has dominated the game while he has been here but I don't know if I would consider him a traditional big. (Which is what I think they were referring to.)

Joker, yes he qualifies.

What makes Joker better than Duncan? I mean since the only thing TD has are accolades.

Im just doing this based off an eye test, its not that serious but Joker to me looks like the game is much more effortless and slow to him. Both had great touches around the rim, though I think Joker is a better shooter and he does make his teammates better.

I get it though, it almost seems “wrong” to put a fairly new player and take him over one of the goats like Duncan. Id easily take Joke over KG and Dirk too if were having that convo.

So the PERCIEVED effort being used is your basis for taking Joker or TD. Got it.

So in one week, we get

"Resilient Scorer"
"Effortless and Slow"

Used as REASONS to take one all-timer over another.

Interesting.

Tim Duncan was flirting with MVPs AND DPOY, every year of his prime while battling the Lakers dynasty. 15 all defenses and top 10 all time in blocks. Stop it

Dude won a ring in year two. Swept Shaq and Kobe in the playoffs that year, 5 rings…. Just stop it.

Didn’t make his teammates better? Ask Ginobili, TP, Bruce Bowen, etc.

I mean were all used to it but is there ever a time youre not having this condescending undertone? :lol

“The game looks effortless” =\= his “effort on the court.

You know what I mean when the game is slow to some people. If I was in Jokers body with my mind, the game would look extremely fast. Id be making bad decision, rushed decisions etc. Joker, the game comes slow to him. Makes him a great decision maker.

What narrative is changing. This your narrative right up there.

I got no problem with SGA winning, he's deserving too. I said the race 2nd half should be interesting 🙃

47% from 3 is crazy

I love Joker and what he stands for. I wish HE was the type of player promoted to our young players (offensively) because he plays "the right way." But his game isn't complete if we are comparing him to ALL-Time dudes like TD and Dreams.

The fact that TD and Dreams played and DOMINATED both sides of the ball will always be the reason there is distance between Joker and them.

With Dream you are talking about a dude that had 200 blocks and 200 steals in ONE damn season.

Like come on man.

Hakeem Olajuwon is the only player in NBA history to record 200 blocks and 200 steals in the same season. He finished the 1988-89 season with 282 blocks and 213 steals.
Hakeem is also the only center in League history to at least 200 steals in a season.

People be saying anything :lol. picasso swerve picasso swerve must’ve never seen the 2003 Finals. Tim was a back 2 back mvp too. Jokic is not 100% better than Tim Duncan :lol

On the contrary I liked watching the Spurs over the years. That ring against the Heat whatever year that is one of the most beautiful displays of basketball ive ever seen. I remember the 03 Finals. Ginobili one of my fav players ever.

But yeah, I said what I said. Id take Joke over Duncan. And I do think Duncan is in the top players convo. Yall making it seem as if I said Duncan was overrated.
