The Official NBA Season Thread

Tonight is why I wasn't buying the recent narrative of the Thunder winning 68+ (forget 70 games) in the regular season. They sat SGA, which definitely opens up the door to a loss on any given night. Chet isn't coming back until end of February/early March at this point.

It's also just not worth it to rack up meaningless wins when all you really want is the #1 seed (which they will get). The 2016 Warriors would probably trade a half dozen wins for being more well-rested for the playoffs.

The 2016 Warriors were 1 win away from winning it all. I don’t think lack of rest was the problem

Grizzlies really got that next man up mentality. They hoop every game.
Great coaching and drafting. It’d be very easy to run Ja logo pnr ever possession, but he’s not even the team’s leading scorer this year.

In the playoffs I think roles and shots need to be a bit more defined and less equal opportunity, but in the regular season with guys constantly out of the lineup their formula works extremely well.

Tried to catch Bron in Atl last month after that blowout loss to the HEAT, he was on the injury report for the first time this season. He bounced between questionable and probable until the official status is required per league rules. That was MORE than enough for me to keep my streak alive of not buying tickets alive for the last several years. Not one of those to say, well I saw my team play and win while paying tier prices for said superstar who's on the bench in street clothes laughing it up. I'm beyond good on all that nonsensical talk.
Bron played the Atlanta December game but you are correct he was questionable basically until like a few hours before tipoff. Plus he had a history of not playing in Atlanta prior to.
