The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

Embiid literally has an MVP and runner up the 2 years before it.

Adnmiral wasn’t the guy for his first chip and was Udonis status for the 2nd.

Wait yall like Embiid now? This is wild. He’s skilled for sure. But he should also score 35 a game WHEN THERE ARE NO BIG MEN LEFT.

He hasn’t played a full 82 games ever. Robinson played 82 games 4 times and 4 more years of 80 and 81 games.

Y’all acting like Robinson isn’t in the HOF lol

Cool he was on the dream team but Jokic almost beat 3 of the best players ever last summer with his homes. Robinson stat padded to win MVP and Hakeem snatched his chain on Sunday in May. Lastly David Robinsons back made him a co star, not him. He was limited by then. Talmbout he was smart.
:lol

You might be addicted for sneakers but certainly not basketball lol

David Robinson was on the DREAM TEAM and won the MVP in 1995. Being a smart man and a team player he made the move to step back and let Duncan be the man.

That is a big part of basketball. Making the decision to put the team first for wins and chips.
Not to mention quadruple doubles, putting up 71 to win the scoring title on the final day of the season. Dude was a team player first and foremost. He didn’t gaf about stats most of the time (cept when he wanted to beat shaq).

The game has advanced but there will always be an era of an all star role player utility guy. Rodman defended and finished plays. Different roles. But he wasn’t iniating offenses and operating as a point forward. That’s advancement.

If you don’t think the game has advanced it’s because you don’t want to believe it has.

Draymond > Rodman AND it's not even close.

Embiid dont even deserve his MVP tbh. That was the most "here bro damn" MVP ever given. Dude complained his way to the award. That was Jokic MVP

Yup. I can see the "evolution" Bigger, stronger, faster. You guys were right

Muscles don’t mean you can hoop. Robinson was great. All time great. Them muscles didn’t mean a thing when Hakeem had him jumping around.

Robinson was 235. Jokic is 280. Y’all see how Jokic moves AD around and he’s 250. Robinson would
have had to out athlete joker but trust me them cuts in his arms wouldn’t help him do a thing against joker.

But Lamelo ball would have crossed him up and shot a fadeaway theee off one leg and cursed his momma out after the game on live TV tho lol

Jokic definitely belongs in the same convo as all the 90's guy.

Offensively, the only one who can chat to him is Shaq.

Admiral as well-rounded as he was, and he might be the most well-rounded center ever, was kind of soft and lacked that killer instinct/motor that the .01% of the greats have.

Robinson was the Harden of bigs in the 90’s great regular season stat stuffer, but always folded in the playoffs.Didnt win until they drafted Timmay

Is it? I think he’s a great player. But there’s most certainly levels.

And he’s definitely not a better offensive player than Embiid, which was the argument.
I was more so looking at Embiid.

If the world blew up today, Joel Embiid would not be considered a better NBA player than David Robinson man.

His skills etc, his durability, his approach to the game, his longevity, his accomplishments.

David Robinson has more of an uphill battle making a case vs. JOKIC and Jokic is a multiple mvp winner so not much can be said there.

In Robinson's defense, he didn't join the league until he was 25 essentially. Pretty crazy to think fairly recently one of the best players ever lost a chunk of his career to the military.

His all-time numbers and perception might be different if he had entered the league earlier.

97-98 was post prime. Look at his averages before then. If that is considered folding, then we must have different definitions of the word.

But saying he FOLDED is a #NTExtreme for sure.

Dream cooked him yes, but don't let that become the narrative of his entire playoff career because that's just an over-exaggeration.

George Mikan would wipe the floor with Shaq, Hakeem, and Robinson. Let's be real

Giannis and Jokic the only guys under 30 who would still thrive in the NBA in the 2008-2013 era. All the other cats under 30 especially the American guys, have dudes in the previous eras that were better than them.

46%,41% and 44% fg% is unacceptable for a 7fter in his prime especially one who doesn’t play on the perimeter
