The Official NBA Season Thread

Added to my Kindle wish list.

GOODT! looks.

I consider it the spiritual sequel to Bill Simmons' "Book of Basketball", which he'll never write. It will be interesting to compare the rankings, especially with 15 years between publications, and the entire 2010s era in the rear view mirror. Simmons does continue to curate his Top 75, mainly the Top 20 - 40. He definitely has Steph as Top 10 now,, and Durant around #15. He put Harden at #35 in the dedicated Harden podcast a few years ago. He also rates Dwight a lot higher than most people do, and thinks he's underrated at this point.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this book (all 752 pages of it!), the rankings and the thought process and analysis. Aldridge and other Athletic writers aren't neccessarily numbers guys like Holinger, so I'm looking forward to the "eye test" part of the rankings. Example: I remember Simmons saying about Iverson that you circled his games on your season ticket calendar every year because you knew you were getting a show every time he walked onto the court. You could count on certain players to deliver every night, and you'd get your money's worth.
