The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

I thought PJ was great defensively. Still has value on that end, he successfully forced Zion right several times which obviously very few people are strong enough and quick enough to do

Problem is on the other end. He might make some 3s earlier in the game but in the fourth quarter he’s going to get entirely ignored and you don’t want him taking several corner 3s to decide the game. And he’s not a dunker so you can’t sit him there.

So ultimately he can’t play after the 3rd quarter. But he can still contribute

Wonder how long Pop is planning to hang in as a head coach? Despite Wemby looking to really be the unicorn he was billed as, the Spurs look to be still years away from being real contenders (unless they trade for another star right away).

Wemby playing more minutes next year + acquiring a starting point guard will put them in the play-in.

The PG doesn’t even need to be a star or even a fringe all star. Tyus Jones would give them an enormous boost.

They’re also lucky that they didn’t win 35 games like Luka’s Mavs or Bron’s cavs in year 1. Perhaps that was the front office mandate or Pop’s goal all along  60 losses is a blessing in disguise.

They’ll have a very high pick. There’s no superstars in this draft but plenty of contributors. They can even trade down if they win the lottery.

So they can turn this around very, very quickly.

Wrestlers sometimes insult the sports team of whatever town they're in that night, Ja probably caught it for playing in Memphis
I haven't watched wrestling regularly in decades, did they turn Rock into a bad guy again? He used to be funny on the mic then they turned him into a good guy and he became a movie star.
