The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

That might’ve been the worst Steve Kerr coached game I’ve ever seen :lol. Big fan of dude, but it seemed almost intentional. How you up 18 for the second night in a row….watch the lead slowly dwindle. Refuse to call any timeouts, and then put Steph in, down 5….like 30 minutes of real time later :lol

These are the dumb *** games that cause teams to fight for play in’s etc.

Warriors blowing huge leads is incredibly concerning. Dennis is a warriors killer too. Nobody can stay in front of him, and you let a team get momentum in the NBA…curtains.
They had a bunch of games like this last season but Steph bailed them out on his way to the clutch award.
Not sure if Elfrid Paytons 14-7-21 after 2 years of not playing is a credit to him or just shows how easy it is to stuff the boxscore in today's NBA
You knew it was March when he got triple doubles in his younger years.

They blew hella leads last year, and lost some truly stupid games….but what I’ve seen 15 games in, is more concerning than last year blown leads.

They straight up giving leads back in record time. Like go on a 12-2 run, and then the other team scores 18 straight points, and completely cancels it out :lol and striking distance ain’t even that close anymore

Strange. Still got hella faith, but they need to make a change. Buddy shot selection is what keeps him inconsistent. Surprised by his ball handling and defense/toughness actually. But he for sure do some dumb ****, that get you parked on the pine for a min, especially if it’s not his night.

He was always truly pass first. Doing it with that team missing players and in his second game is crazy.
Those types of PGs just need a rim runner (missi) a shooter (Murphy) and a CS off the ball scorer (McCollum) plus an opportunity.

35 year old rondo put up 13 assists in like 20
minutes is last season. Those guys will always be able to pass

Pacers/Kings always give up crazy nights to guys.

The issue with Elf is he can dominate the ball and fill a box score but you’re not a very good team with him in that role. No different from Russ.

Should we talk about the overrated West?
Is it really overrated though? I think the West has more been touted for being deep with good teams than for having a lot of really great teams, which is accurate.

And the West overall is still numerically and eye test better than the East. (Currently 138 - 122 West over East in head-to-head match-ups this season).

And then there's also the matter of a number of West teams having stars out due to injury.

But the East had a good night last night though.

16 of Steph's 17 shots tonight were 3's
51 of Boston's 88 shots were 3's

I think we're a couple years away from every team in the league shooting more 3's than 2's

The old heads are gonna hate it :lol
Its not going to get that way because rule changes are coming. Just a hunch. The difference between good basketball and entertaining basketball is widening due to the math. Only rule changes can fix it. MLB made changes and it did wonders

this is even more shocking when you factor in that Towns has allowed his opponent to shoot 109.4% at the rim this season
