The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Begins | Embiid Debut | Klay Return

Who let Brosizzlew30.23 Brosizzlew30.23 get a hold of Shaq’s talking points??
BOS and GSW shooting 88 threes combined and playing good defense ain’t the problem because these two teams can win with that style of ball.

The problem lies when every damn team tryna copycat when they don’t have the personnel to consistently accomplish what BOS and GSW are doing while winning at the same time.

But don’t ask me about the formula on beating a BOS and a GSW in a 7 game series because it’s not rocket science, it’s basketball. And I don’t care how many threes BOS and GSW will make. The problem is, there ain’t enough All-Star caliber big men in the league who consistently score inside the paint like the NBA of the past.

The game has changed only because of the sheer amount of volume of threes being chucked league wide. At the end of the day, it’s still basketball.

Give me about 5-7 elite big men who willingly want to score from the low post 15-20 times a game and who can command constant double and triple teams in the post, surround each elite big with about 3-4 solid three point shooters who play defense like a Rick Fox, a Rob Horry, a Derek Fisher, a prime Trevor Ariza, a prime James Posey, a prime Danny Green, a prime Bruce Bowen, and I guarantee you the perception of the “modern NBA” and the way pro basketball is played changes.

again… Dame plays no defense. He’s a short guard and he’s 34. Steph is an anomaly.

Those short offensive guards fall off quick after 33/34

And they were asking Jrue to defend at a high level while also being a co second option. Post championship he was putting up 40/30 shooting splits. He couldn’t handle the workload.

It was bad enough passing on Podz, Jaquez or Whitmore, but the Lakers weren't far off from picking D1ck, Cason Wallace, Keyonte or Hawkins. Only to end up with JHS. :lol

The C’s are really built perfectly  All of those benefitting from each other, nobody has to try to do too much.

I’m saying. Doesn’t have to chase the others teams best player the whole game. Can have an off shooting night and it not hurt you on offense. Can be a just good enough playmaker.

Dude was contemplating retirement until he got the new easier gig. Jimmy was FRYING him his last year and you could see it was too much to ask of him
