The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

i think fans of 10-12 teams now preferring to lose plays a factor in decling viewership

I said this a while go. Fans becoming Front Office gurus is hurting the game. You can't even talk about trades like back in the day without someone telling you actually that player can't be traded until December 15 and because of this team's tax situation, they can't take on more money in the deal, so really that trade is impossible.
Or you mention you wish your team would go after X player. Here come someone out of the corner telling you that X team holds that players' Bird rights so it will never happen.
These are the Sam Hinkes of fans think losing is the 2nd best thing your team can so besides winning a championship.

Wolves offense wasn’t that good with KAT at the 4 either

They were top 10 with KAT at the 5 the year before Rudy got there. Would’ve been nice to see with this current version of Ant.

You trying to get rid of this thread? That's what goes on in here.

People complain about the number of threes being taken like the nba is just julian newman launching 30’ step backs because he can’t get past his defender

But sure, let’s go back to a game where we’d dump the ball to gobert and watch him post up 45 times a game
Right. I made this point in here before. People calling for less 3s don’t seem to really be thinking through what’s realistically going to replace those 3 point attempts.

The Clippers shot a lot of 3s last night against the Mavs, but with just a few exceptions they were open looks within the flow of the offense after multiple passes or good PNR/DHO action. If guys pass up open looks like that just in the name of taking less 3s, it’s more than likely going to mean more contested 2s or turnovers forcing the ball in the paint, shot clock violations, etc.

You gon jump to that extreme :lol

How about playing a smarter, more efficient style. Cuts to the rim, drives, post game, mid range. Nobody saying stop shooting 3's period. Play smarter. It's getting sloppy and lazy at this point.

it goes back to what kobe said years ago

the offenses are basic, someoone drives, either score the layup or pass out for an open 3

back in the 2000s there was more pick and rolls with more cutting players
the warriors dynasty was full of cutting players but they would mostly cut to 3

the current style is not horrible but definitely a less movement on the court

hella bored at home on a day off. Watching long island nets vs clippers g league team

had no idea killian hayes got sent down. This man spent four years with the big club and is still throwing horrible lobs in the G :smh:

Teams are scoring more and still shooting with equal or better efficiency than decades past, so is it really getting sloppy and lazy?

Those back door cuts, off ball screens, and dives to the rim are still happening, largely in part because spacing and ball movement in the league is at an all time high. defenses have to play honest and defend at least 35 feet away from the rim, and can’t just clog the paint anymore

I think the only realistic solution is to move the 3 point line back so it’ll be more difficult to make them. The main storyline of the entire season so far being “too many 3’s are boring, declining viewers” is not a good look for Adam Silver and he should change something.

The MLB has made a handful of changes to try and make the game more interesting because they actually listened to feedback for once. Silver should take note.

This will be the 11th best scoring year while shooting the most 3's so no they're not scoring more. The problem is people keep getting into this silly 90's vs now instead of being unbiased. I get it people thought this era was far superior and talented and smarter but now it's backfiring.

Yes it is sloppy and lazy when dudes are cool with bricking 30+ 3's.

The top 8 is literally all in the 1960s

9-11 are the last 3 years.

-Widen the court...I don't want to see players called for out of bounds anymore.
-Make three point line same distance all over...No more advantageous corner threes.
-Extend the charge circle...Tired of players sliding under and causing injury.
-Allow more physicality along perimeter...May reduce three point attempts and encourage paint attacks?
-Eliminate video replays...An eyesore and waste of time as a tv viewer.

I appreciate pmatic pmatic . I don't care what anyone says.

I remember when Adam Silver came in and everybody loved him cause the players could literally do whatever they wanted. Kornhieser always held firm that he had no backbone and it would eventually backfire on him. Which it has pretty much.
