The Official NBA Season Thread: I’m like Jayson Tatum in the Olympics I'm not playing

Damn dude has one bad game and gets **** on  :smh:

Just SMOKED Luka and them too so not sure why he’s getting brought up

Saying Tatum isn’t a superstar or isn’t tier 1 really isn’t ****ting on someone tho.

He’s still a top 10 player in the world.

Unfortunately you just like RustyShackleford RustyShackleford had to learn is that Luka is above slander and criticism. At least from the vast majority of this thread.

Saying Tatum isn’t a superstar or isn’t tier 1 really isn’t ****ting on someone tho.

He’s still a top 10 player in the world.

Bron, Giannis, Luka, Shai, Jokic, Embiid, Steph, KD, AD....

IDK he might not be top 10. It's between him and Booker for that 10 spot. Which lightskin Kobe disciple y'all got?

That Luka vs Tatum thing was a discussion what do you guys mean?

Are we just going to forget about that?

That was the discussion leading into the season. I get why people wanted to make it a discussion because Luka is 25 and Tatum is 26. The ESPN rankings had Tatum above.

But it’s just flat out wrong. There are levels here.

Mans talking like he PJ Tucker

If i have to stand in the corner i will

A MVP dont say that ****

And he stunk in the cavs game to. Dont let that lil 26pts FOOL YA

Tatum been like #4 or 5 on the MVP list all year.

Nothing has changed really.

Jokic
SGA
Luka
Freak
Tatum

I’m not just talking about MVP, I’m talking about overall but yea Jokic is going to run away with it.

That’s a good MVP list tho.

Competent, cohesive team basketball. Must be nice

Celtics have what it takes on paper to win the whole thing.

It’s just the little things they seem to mess up. They lost the game before on a Dean Wade outback . Then decide not to box out AG as well
AG in the dunker. Three 40% three point shooters on the floor. This is a checkmate and why they won a title and why they’re going to be so hard to deny again.

Jokic at the top, he’s going to put his man in the rim, so you have to help.

Murray will flare to the 3 so it can’t be Jaylen, MPJs man has no help responsibility. So that leaves Tatum & Jrue. Whoever is protecting the rim, the other guy has to seal AG, but this causes another problem.

Tatum is late here (he & Jrue have to rotate at the EXACT same time) but even if he’s on time, you’re leaving KCP wide open, which is the checkmate.

The math would tell you a dunk is a 100% shot, an open jumper from anyone anywhere on the court is much lower than that, so you give up the jumper.

And that’s the only adjustment you can make when Denver runs this every single time down the court  You gotta concede something, and it’s a wide open corner 3.

And you’ll probably lose like that.

History is on Tatums side. In 2004 & 2014 a team without a top 5 guy won a title. He can keep the trend alive.

The crazy thing is he's statistically one of the most clutch players in NBA history. He just has so many opportunities that there's gonna be plenty of misses that people will prefer to talk about.
