The Official NBA Season Thread: HO HO HO

9s were a miss, but I liked the 10s a lot. Then Bron started wearing the Solider line which wasn't a great sign for his sig line. 15s were cool because they just copied a bunch of popular colorways. 17s and 20s were good.
Think him wearing the soldiers was when they were really trying to branch out his line with takedown options because his shoes were top dollar around the time, retailing at $200. Think it was purely marketing. 11s just were never going to fit his feet but had solid colorways.

Ehh Don’t think NFL ratings were pushing what they are now back then to even attempt challenging NBA Christmas Day games.

I think what Lebron said was cool and he backed his league. He did exactly what he should and the game backed up his words.

MJ should not have been brought up. MJ took the NBA to heights they nor anyone could have imagined. Contrarily Lebron is fighting the NBA declining with him still the face of the league.

Today we were reminded what happens when the players actually ball. The only reason we got a good product today was because it was Christmas and they were the focal point of pretty much America. Everything will be back to normal next week.

MJ also didn’t speak out on a lot of things. The two are quite opposite in that manor.

This coming from YOU is rich….

I have maybe 400 pairs now and not one is a Lebron shoe. My kid doesn’t even ask for his shoes and never has. I’ve rarely seen anyone wearing his shoes. I’m well aware some colorways sell out, he has a massive fanbase. They ain’t never been hot.

You don’t have to defend everything Lebron. Im
not going to tell you MJ’s Hanes commercials were dope and wear Hanes lol.

I think we can both agree Lebron has been great on social issues and using his platform well. MJ didn’t speak much as a player but also didn’t have social media. Today MJ has spoken clearly on his stance on social issues and donated tens of millions.

Both are great at it and have done it differently.

Haven’t defended everything Bron, but in the same context you don’t have to go out of your way to hate everything Bron then too right?

Brons haven’t been hot since probably the X’s.

It’s crazy because I thought his brand would have been as big as Jordan.

I remember the First Games being my first “investment” as a kid in middle school.“I’m gonna stash these away in plastic with silica packs. I’ll get like $150k 15 years from now..”

Still got them in my mom’s place. Probably wouldn’t be able to get $600-700 for them. Nike retroed them too much too so that didn’t help. But still….

Personally tho I like his line. Think they’re comfortable and good basketball shoes. They just never had that public connection.

I am not into shoes like that anymore, but I hate the "Yeezyfication" of basketball shoes. Like the AE1 isn't moving me like that. It looks like a shoe I would wear if I lived on the moon.

I would rather wear the Book 1 it looks cooler. The Sabrina's are great shoe as well.
