The Official NBA Season Thread: Fries Discourse | Mavs vs Jazz

He was the 1st KD

Man…I used to pick the pacers as my team in NBA Live 04 and I’d stash Bender until I need him.

Anytime it was a a close game and I need a game winning shot, I’d sub him in as a center and have him on the corner 3.

He will ALWAYS be wide open. I remember a couple of years back I played a live 04 simulator and I had Bender hit two wide open 3s in a row and my opponent was PISSED. I used to get the same reaction every time

I respect RustyShackleford RustyShackleford disdain for Luka. It’s good for the thread.

But I can’t agree he gets a pass for his conditioning when this picture exists:

This chatter don't work from Suns fan
Why because of one game?

Y'all should print that meme of Luka and Book and hang it up next to the Championship banner

So next time Luka comes into camp heavy, or gets cooked on defense in the playoffs, and gives up transition points because he is arguing with refs

Y'all can look to the rafters and remember the good times.

Before y'all find someone else to blame besides the fat Slovenian that refuses to do the bare minimum to try to maximize his potential.

My main criticism of Luka are

-He should take his conditioning
-He should try harder on defense more
-He needs to stop needlessly berating the refs

These are all things Kidd and Luka himself has as acknowledged.

I don't say Booker is better than him, Luka s clearly better. Or even the Suns are some better team than the Mavs. The Mavs are the better team right now.

But people have no comeback to the obviously true criticisms I give about him. So the only comeback is to act like I'm saying something different. So they can try to clap back by bringing up Book and the Suns.

So again. When Luka comes into camp out of shape. Gets cooked play after play on defense play after play in the playoffs. And gives up transition baskets and techs because he can't control his temper.

Take comfort in the fact he blew out the Suns that one time.

Y'all pretty much Al Bundy talking about Polk High at this point.

But one day he gonna break y'all spirit. I am patiently waiting to have those inconvenient conversations y'all ducking right now...

You support a team that has been a laughingstock of the league for over two decades

And will be for the next two

Enjoy another season of Dolan using y'all as useful fools to fund his studio time
You talking like Brunson aint co-parenting with visitation. Don't lash out at me, lash out at the team defense

Brunson can't make his support payments because he foolishly like Dolan play him like a sucka too

What kind of role model lets a rich white billionaire scam him.

While Knicks fans cheer that behavior on

Shameful :smh: Phoenix deserves better

Bender was my secret weapon in NBA Live 2004.
That’s a deep cut right there.
He doesn't get nearly as much smoke as Zion does

I don't see Pelicans fans get defensive if someone says Zions needs to take his conditioning seriously
There’s nothing good faith about comparing Luka Doncic’s conditioning or preparation for the season with Zion. It’s brain dead to do so.

I know you probably thought this was a banger of a jab when you wrote it

But too bad I am comparing Luka and Zion's conditioning programs or preparation

I am comparing how fans behavior regarding the subject of them having to focus on their condition

But nice try though
comparing fan behavior regarding the two also brain dead. One dude has an extremely high usage, doesn’t miss many games and has won multiple playoff series as an underdog and just led his team to the Finals. The other guy we’d be happy to see him make it through a season playing 60 games.

Nice try for you. You hate Luka. We get it. This take sucks.

This is dumb

Luka's lack of taking his conditioning seriously also causes him problems. That he basically doesn't even try on one end, when it is clear that he can play decent defensive when he puts in the effort. The Dallas sports media acknowledges it would be better if Luka took his condition more seriously, Kidd mentioned it, Luka has acknowledged it in interviews.

My general point is that conditioning is a limiting factor from them playing at their peak. Of course Zion's issue is more serious

But it causes Luka issues too. Besides lack of effort on one end, his *** was playing through injuries to end the season and everyone was talking about it limiting him.

So I feel Luka's issues rise to the point where his fans would at least be like "yeah he should take it more seriously". Especially since he is a extremely high usage player.

Instead of defensive nonsense.

Pelicans would have more of a reason for concern on the issue, but it is not like it is a non-issue with Luka. It is like the #1 thing pundits say he should work on to maximize his potential.

Like you don't think Luka should not take his conditioning more seriously?

You like Luka

I get it

And because you are overly defensive because I said he should take his conditioning more seriously

So now you’ve determined that his injuries were based on lack of conditioning?
Like you don't think Luka should not take his conditioning more seriously?
I’ve literally been critical in this thread of Luka for his conditioning. Whining that the discourse around him versus Zion is just stupid.

You are the one that brought injuries into this by acting like the reason Pelicans fans have reason to have an issue with Zion, but somehow Mavs fans don't need to with Luka because of availability.

Zion's injuries could just all be mostly bad luck. But people think his conditioning could minimize the risk and impact of potential injuries. Which to be seems reasonable to assume the correlation, even if the causation is not established.

Welp, by the same logic, maybe a better condition Luka might be available to avoid some of the injuries that don't take him out, but slow him down. So I don't have to argue causation to make the comparison

Look at I have said about how Luka's conditioning limits him, and it has been mostly about how it limits him in what he can do on the court as far as effort.

I’ve literally been critical in this thread of Luka for his conditioning.

I didn't deny you were not. My initial post joking about it was because I know both you and addict4sneakers addict4sneakers have mentioned it. And am joking that he still isn't taking it seriously

And for some weird reason, probably because you don't like hearing Luka slander, you want to grab hold of one thing I said, and blow it up. As though if you invalidate this one tiny thing, you can make my entire argument seem unreasonable.

Whining that the discourse around him versus Zion is just stupid.
Spare me

I made one comment to lawdog1 lawdog1 about it

Then you strawmaned my argument, and I have been responding to your second attempt at complaining about two sentences I wrote.

You want me stop talking about Zion. Then stop typing.
