Because Rose won an MVP? I kind of feel like VC made Toronto relevant for a while. I don’t know. Their stays at both pretty short

….and also was an MVP lets not leave the most important factor out now lol

Being round the Chicagoland area at that time I can fully admit I have a bias and have no issue with him gettin his number retired. Its a TEAM/Organizational decision so its more regional than anything.

Getting a number retired isnt an induction into the HOF and its not a national accolade, its literally something solely for a team to show recognition. The impact Rose had on the city while being one of the top players in the L and also becoming the youngest MVP, I cant see why folks got an issue with a team deciding to show its appreciation….

and Im not even a Bulls fan in the slightest form, so me even defending that org is an outta body experience for me…its just a very unique circumstance that if you happen to have the luxury of witnessing it all in person in real time, it all just makes sense.

Vince is like Jaylen Brown without anything playoff related.

I don’t think there are enough Jersey retirements TBH.

If I was Commissioner I would mandate that every team that’s been existence for a minimum of 20 years retire at least 2 player jerseys.

Walton was the most valuable player for Portland’s lone championship lol

As long as I've watched the Lakers, there have only been maybe a handful of dudes that took the crowd's breath away. DRose was one of them.

In his prime Walton was MVP of the league and won a championship and FMVP.

Late career he re-invented himself as an awesome role player and won 6MOTY along with another chip.

On top of also being a top 3 college player ever.
