I'm thinking that the Celtics already offered Marbury a contract and the Knicks now that.
They're not going to give him the buy out until AFTER the Celtics play at the Garden.

Anyway, Russel Westbrook slammed it on Mario Chalmers

not only that KD tired to end his Boy Beasleys life last night

but hemissed the dunk

Steph not having an agent has crippled him in this process.

Only an idiot as big as Steph would come out and say he wants to go to Boston when employed by the Knicks.

Agreed. I don't know why that boy ain't just get an agent and call it a day.

The same 1 million he's willing to give back would have went towards an agent who would have worked out something much, much sooner than this.

- There's a log jam at the top. It's going to be intersting to see which of the 4 teams finishes on top...
- Kobe with 10+ assists in his last 3 games. We're a much better TEAM when he plays like that...

I'm tired as !*+#. I'll probably finish this in the morning, but for now good night.

Sixers lost to the Mavs by a Dirk buzzer beater after sixers had came back under 1:30 left in the 4th

My man

I still think Dirk is ice in a lot of big late 4th quarter moments.

I was messing around on basketball-reference and I noticed this. When Kobe scores 27 points or less, the Lakers are 21-0. When he scores 28 points or more, theLakers are 11-8. I know part of the reason is the Lakers were blowing teams out early in the season, so he didn't play as many minutes but that was stillamazing to me.

Hamilton becomes sixth man; lineup change is permanent
Posted Tuesday, January 20, 2009

For six seasons, the surest thing in Detroit sports was Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton lining up in the Pistons' backcourt. One half of the union dissolved two games into the 2008-09 season when Joe Dumars traded Billups to Denver for Allen Iverson.

The other shoe dropped Tuesday when Michael Curry made the decision to bring Hamilton off the bench, ending the small-ball experiment that had Tayshaun Prince playing power forward and Hamilton lining up at small forward to accommodate an Iverson-Rodney Stuckey backcourt.

Don't know about anyone else, but if one of two has to move to the bench, it's Hamilton. We've never seen it for an extended period of time, butIverson coming off the bench CANNOT be advantageous to the Pistons...call me a skeptic, whatever. I truly believe that will cause locker room problems on asquad that already has their hands full between Orlando, Boston, and Cleveland in the offseason. Hamilton's personality seems much more accepting of therole, and I think he'll be a solid scoring threat for the Pistons' second unit.

Just my $.02...

Detroit has turned itself into a mess.

I'm not even sure what they're doing now. I hope they aren't tryna be in the Bron sweepstakes, but getting Kwame, trading for Iverson, sittingRip....what the hell man?

Hamilton's personality seems much more accepting of the role
I don't know about that.
Talked to Richard Hamilton a bit before the game. It wasn't a formal interview or anything, but I wanted to sound him out on the idea of him coming off the bench. Barring any setbacks, he is expected to return to active duty Tuesday against the Bobcats.

Michael Curry has been hinting for a couple of weeks that a tough decision was going to have to be made because the Pistons' best chance to beat Boston and Cleveland is with a big lineup. It's pretty obvious that small-ball wasn't going to cut it. Curry's been throwing out names like Manu Ginobili and Lamar Odom, big-time players who are coming off the bench for elite teams.

But I don't think Rip is hearing any of it. Our exchange went something like this:

So, what's going to happen when you come back, do you think you will jump right back into the starting lineup?

Rip: "Yeah, that's the only option."

Well, there is another option -- coming off the bench.

Rip: "That ain't happening."

That's from a couple weeks ago though, so maybe he came to his senses.

Sat me down...nice read though, thanks. I obviously hadn't read that, but what from you see...you know...

I don't think AI would be too thrilled with coming off the bench either though like C-Webb was saying last night.
laugh.gif

I guess the other story was either blown out of proportion or Rip changed his mind or maybe a little of both.

If it works, Richard Hamilton could become the Pistons' best sixth man since Vinnie Johnson.
If it doesn't, then any hopes of the Pistons being legitimate contenders this season will be dashed.

Pistons coach Michael Curry said Tuesday that Hamilton will be coming off the bench, while Allen Iverson will start at shooting guard and Amir Johnson will take Hamilton's spot in most situations.

Curry said Kwame Brown would start for Johnson against teams with bigger centers like the Celtics, Lakers and Cavaliers.

"A lot of people have made a lot of things about this," Hamilton said. "Regardless, you want to win games. Me and Allen both know that. They told me I was coming off the bench, that it was something MC (Curry) wanted and I said, 'Fine, cool.'

"The bottom line is you want to win games. If this is the best way we can win a championship, then I am all for it. The thing is, we have two great scorers, me and A.I. We have to figure out how both of us can be our best."

Whatever the case, I'm glad Detroit understands that Rod is the most important piece.

Teams are hitting a very respectable 76.9% of their foul shots in the NBA this season, which is very close to breaking the NBA's long-standing record, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

During the 1973-74 season, the league shot a record 77.1 percent from the foul line.

- Drew with 42 and 15 today
eek.gif
Granted it was against the Clips, but still
laugh.gif

- Kobe with 4 straight games of 10+ assists, and I think he has 2 triple-doubles in those 4 games.
- Shaq is by FAR the best player on the Suns. Amare

This hasn't been discussed, but HOW THE HELL do you not score a fg against Brian Scalabrine?
- Speaking of Amare, he was buns today too. Nash had 19 assists though. Lee had 25 and 16
- Kevin Durant didn't have a great night, but Green and Westbrook
pimp.gif
. The game winner Green hit was ill
- Celtics with 6 in a row, they're getting it back together...
- Rip Hamilton coming off the bench for the first time in a Pistons uniform: 7 points, 4 assists, and 3 boards in 21 mins.(3/9 from the field tho)
- CP3 almost knocked out a triple-double too
- The Bucks put a 30+ point beat down on the Mavs. Charlie V. had 32 and 10 in 31 mins.
- Bron had 34-14-7. CP's boy put up 10 and 8 in 25 mins. He fouled out

...

Westbrook - 30 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
Durant - 27 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists
Green - 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 game winner

OKC 3 at it again...

^ I ope by CP's boy, you mean Chris Paul's favorite player.

To be fair with Bynum, he beasted on a team with no center at the time, alot like Oden did to the Bucks. I'm not an unfair guy.

Westbrook, Green and Durant all with 25+ points.
eek.gif

Call me crazy, and I doubt the chemistry will ever get right, but I love the kids the Clips have. Jordan, Thorton and Gordon are all good young kids, if theyever get healthy and find a way to mesh all the players, they have NICE talent. Add Walker to that list as well.

Celtics v Magic tonight should be
