I've said it countless times, but that team is so much better without TMac.

Well, this is fun: "This is the fifth season Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming have played together in Houston, so you'd think by now that everyone would be comfortable with their roles. Apparently not. McGrady has been privately complaining to friends in recent days about Yao taking too many shots and not being tough enough. Like McGrady has never been accused of either."
And it begins...

Quick thoughts
-Clippers need to trade Camby while he still has high value around the league.
-A few teams could use Boozer but won't risk it due to his injury and impending free agency.
-I see the Mavs slipping in the upcoming weeks...their schedule looks brutal.
-Wouldn't a O'Neal-Marion swap help both Toronto and Miami?
-Rockets needs to scrap whatever they can for McGrady at this point.
Speculation Increases After Diop "DNP"

Diop arrived at Arco Arena to get in some extra work.
He didn't realize that would be his only time on the court Sunday evening. That Diop did not play fueled pre-game speculation that the Mavericks were considering a trade that would involve the 7-footer. Coach Rick Carlisle emphasized that it was strictly a coach's decision and nothing should be read into it.
The timing made it strange. Earlier, rumors swirled that the Mavs were talking with Charlotte about a Diop swap for point guard Raymond Felton. There would have to be other parts involved to make it work, and perhaps a third team.
By all accounts, any deal with Charlotte was on life-support Sunday night, if not completely dead, although it could always be rekindled. Diop said after the game that he had heard about it, but that rumors are part of the NBA life leading up to the Feb. 19 trade deadline.
It's the job of owner Mark Cuban and president Donnie Nelson to explore options. The Mavericks can be a solid, playoff team. But to make any real noise in the playoffs, they probably have to improve. To ignore contact by other teams would be a disservice to the fans.
Between now and the deadline, fans and players should heed one rule: don't believe everything you hear.
