Story mode is a con? In what way? It's the STORY
The so so models I can agree with. Most of the humans are wearing generic robot apocalypse gear. They should of gave them more fear at the expense of being less "realistic"

As for the score, I don't see how those factors drop it down to an 8.4. The fighting game within all the fluf is what they should be reviewing. As usual review sites and magazines don't know how to do their own job

true lol the irony is your avi though.....they can pretty much (street fighter that is) can rehash the same game over and over...maybe add new costumes/character and the reviewers act as if it revolutionized the fighting game genre

It bought fighting games back to the forefront. SF4 that is.

As a novice, are there any videos out already that can help learn to pick up combos? I plan on hitting the lab heavy, but I'd like a foundation to work from if possible.

I'm using Sub-Zero and I can't even pull off the cold encounter combo in a match

Freeze combos, for example jump in punch, jab, jab, into ice ball. When he's frozen hit him with another combo. Start basic like that then expand when you feel comfortable.

When I watch some of these competitive matches, they're using so much language that's foreign to me

Mix-ups, 50/50, etc.

The competitive players see the game so much differently.

I'm at 113-17 online ranked. I haven't even scratched the combo surface with Ermac yet. I've been basically winning off reads and X Ray management an setups. Dudes burn their X Rays at the wrong times.

If you want easy wins just spam. The connection is so bad most of the time that the timing to block is like a second early.

Ermac has 2 moves that hold opponets for free combos. Not to mention he can control space and get around easy with teleport. I've literally yet to play as any other character beside Cage in story mode.

Playing through the story.. pretty cool how old MK characters pop up in it, it'd be REALLY dope if they are eventually DLC. The way the did Rain was pretty legit I thought.

Also... why is it that sometimes the game wont let me do special moves? Like mid match my moves will just stop working in story mode someitmes, and when I was playing with Takeda it wouldn't let me do my X-Ray move at all lol.

You can only use the X-Ray when your meter is full. If it was full and not working, then I have no clue

I basically just play Test your Luck now. I have the most fun in there with all the different modifiers, tornadoes and portal combat are always entertaining.

Might be your controller.

Had the exact same prob with takeda online. 

I never used him before so I guessing its situational?
