Claim is still active but they gave me a rating and back pay for what they could for now i guess
Just got granted 90% last night, some things were rated at 0% but atleast have a rating and service connected. Extremely grateful.

Just had my General Exam for C&P out here in Bahrain, dude was super thorough, and stuff I didn’t even think of trying to claim, he put me down for everything, it was about 7 hours, I would do it again, except one part….

USN, active duty for about 9 years...desert storm vet. The PACT ACT was a game changer for so many, including myself.
I appreciate reading all the posts and keeping up with current situations/uniform policies in this thread. Man, I would've loved to have a forum like this when I was on active duty.
Carry on.

And now it begins :lol reddit’s r/veteranswaitingroom and r/veteransbenefits is a deep well of info.

When you start checking your status grab the chrome extension for a more detailed look at where your claim is

***unsolicited update*** had my MH appointment about a week or two ago…. It was basically like a Zoom meeting, they asked me like one or two questions about my childhood, and how my relationship with my parents and siblings were growing up, and then we spent like maybe 20-25 minutes taking about my experiences with the Navy, after I laid everything out she was like “oh, we have so much to unpack” basically, there’s more than enough issues here. So I feel confident about that side of the house, but after reflecting on my experiences and chopping it up with my friends who are still in and have a ways to go, I was like, we deserve whatever rating we get for Mental Health no questions asked, like we have all seen stuff, or responded to stuff (MAs) that won’t just go away, but the machismo and the nature of our jobs don’t really allow us to get the help or the counseling we need without risking losing our Rates/MOS, clearances, etc.

One thing I have learned in 23 years of service, I'm not questioning ANYONE'S mental health.

I hope you get what you need and I hope they support you 100% for the rest of your life. Key word 100%.

I'm in my orders window and working with my detailer to take an Expeditionary tour. Hopefully it works out. If not I'll retire in 2026.

I’m expeditionary right now, about the main thing I complained about was the uncertainty in schedule for missions. Some guys stay gone on mission, while some just don’t. Staff never leaves and that’s expected but the guys who are here to do the missions, it’s just some glaring inconsistencies for some folks out here.

In my role 99% of the time I wouldn't deploy but I know they are thinking about changing how exped's go on the helo side....we will see.

VA reps are preparing for an massive amount of claims. Project 2025 could cause major issues for Vets if all of it is actually enacted...

veterans getting disability:

are yall worried how the new administration is going to reevaluate everyone's ratings? i think they cut funding and lower everyone's ratings

Yes.

I work with several veterans as well and they dont realize what can very well happen that voted for trump if he takes away federal taxes
.

So upsetting how many AD voted for him out of ignorance
I’m stationed overseas, but when I was stateside my whole dept. damn near were staunch Trump supporters, and one lady was like she would’ve taken leave to go to the Jan 6 event, this same lady; spent her last year on AD making a thousand appointments to get her VA, now let’s see what happens. She retired as a Chief to eventually be a “Trad Wife” to a conspiracy theorist who told her to risk her entire retirement over the COVID VAX mandate, and she was going to. As soon as she said that, and that she would rather retire then have to go back overseas because “she already did her time” (mind you, she did a whole 8 months in Korea back in 2003, and then did 8-9 months in Bahrain back in 2012, and a whole 10-11 months in Rota in like 2015. Just working for that security department should’ve been enough to make me drink heavier. The amount of ignorance and misinformation, and they voted for this man again who wants to cut benefits, like they aren’t already fighting to get 100%. Sickening.

Smh. A lot of people I respected starting showing true colors on Wednesday.

The true worst part about it is these people have always felt this way but they have had to play nice due to the rules in the military.

I'm the only black officer at my command...and trust me...I know they tolerate me. And that's fine.

I was the only black guy in my shop during his presidency, the gymnastics and subtle racism i had to deal with from civillans. i do not miss it at all.

I feel this more than I care to admit, no worries though the final countdown has started
