That last fit pic proves that the tongue/shaft isn't too bulky, it can be tied up tightly and look slim. Shoe also looks pretty low profile, not as bulky, if it weren't for the sole, I'd say they are almost the same silhouette as the FK trainers, maybe a bit more rounded?
And about the cuffs being rolled, you guys gets bothered too much.
Maybe he was just rolling it to shoe the whole shoe? Even if he isn't, let it go and just because dude wears his jeans that way doesn't mean everyone does.
