The official DC Animated movies thread

wow I didn't even know JLD came out already. been waiting since last year to see this movie.

Yeah, i'll have to check it out soon. Trailers looked good.

Did not know swamp thing was a DC comic nor that he's damn near Omega level or whatever the DC version of that is.

They definitely made some of them pretty op, Faust was almost untouchable for a good second there. Constantine was up there too.

Faust was the best fight though and the ending was somewhat lackluster in comparison.

Film was good but really mostly an intro to JLD members in case a movie about it is made, wouldn't be surprised if this is a way of gauging peoples interest in these characters.

Could this be from the Teen Titans: The Judas Contract sneak peak on the JLD blu-ray?

My dad was disappointed largely because of the Justice League name but Batman being the only one. I thought it was good. Different than what we usually get. Some guy on the train was asking me how'd I get it early.

It's not supposed to be the main Justice League. It's the Justice League Dark. It's all the supernatural characters.

It's like when they do the Justice League International, West Coast Avengers, Young Avengers, etc.

Perhaps he thought the dark part was a subtitle.

I can see ppl easily getting confused. They're only called JLD for marketing purposes. Some of these magic characters weren't even JL members prior.

I think the film was handled well and that it'll certainly generate interest in the magical side of the DCU. Hope they end up making a sequel of some kind. Always good for more characters to get attention.

I could see it throwing a lot of people off. I think that's why the live action Justice League Dark movie had it's name changed to Dark Universe or whatever they're calling it. Justice League Dark is a better title though.

Definitely need a sequel. this was too much of an intro. I was expecting more but still enjoyed the movie reguardless

That's what i'm saying. For the sequel i'd like them to cut out Batman, bring back Etrigan, and throw in maybe one more magic user and have the team deal with some threat on their own. Maybe in another dimension.

If they make a sequel they can introduce Sebastien Faust since we got Felix Faust in this one. Maybe Madame Xanadu, Doctor Fate, or The Spectre too. Batman was necessary for this first movie because it wouldn't sell half as well without him. Once they get people familiar with these characters, they won't need him for any sequels.

I'm buying the blu-ray in 2 weeks because I collect these movies and I genuinely enjoyed this one. Plus if it sells well, DC will have more confidence in making movies for more obscure characters. If it doesn't, we'll probably get another string of 10 Batman movies. :lol

JLD was okay.

They should've went all in with the magic and magical threats.
