My thoughts exactly. Champ over there just doesn't quit.
I've literally tried to drop this 3 times. Other just kept it going, and I will voice my Opinions. My thoughts exactly. Champ over there just doesn't quit.
Outlaw Star was a good show. I was a bit more of a Bebop fan though.
My thoughts exactly. Champ over there just doesn't quit.
What does it matter what their names are?
Anyone who has been a fan of this series knows that Kishi owes a debt of gratitude to traditional Japanese lore and myth, which has in turn, been influenced by the wider Asiatic myth and pantheon.
A perfect example of this can be found in the name given to certain ninja techniques--see Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Izanagi, Izanami, etc--as well as the very characters themselves, with special emphasis on the 9 tails (see the fox demon myth).
Enma, or the monkey King, is an especially vivid example of the contextualization of these traditional myths in a contemporary story (i.e Naruto). If you've familiarize yourself with some portion of this history (which a real fan should do, imo), then you are aware the Enma's real name is Sun Wokong, and is the central character in "the classical Chinese epic novel Journey to the West (Chinese: 西遊記; pinyin: Xīyóujì) written by Wu Cheng'en."
In this legitimate history on Enma, it is revealed that:
Lex, did you read that clearly? According to this legitimate history, Enma joined A CLAN OF MONKEYS, and together they CREATED A NEW HOME, or A VILLAGE (see NINJA VILLAGE in the Naruto'verse).
This is the historical fact of the character. Kishi burrowed this character from an older story, and with it came the associated backstory. Do you see now, or you going to try to argue against this piece of factual common sense?
As stated earlier, you can't just go by what only appears in the Naruto series alone. Kishi is a smart story teller, evidenced by how highly successful a story Naruto has become, who is aware of the greater Asiatic canon of mythology. He expertly burrows from the mythology to legitimize his own story, without coming of as a plagiarist. This is why there are references, and not outright proclamations. You as the reader, and fan, must then piece it all together if you are to gain a greater appreciation of the story.
Lesson here: not all information pertinent to a successful telling of the story must be laid out in plain sight. You, the reader, must piece together certain information--a great deal burrowed from historical sources--in order to fully comprehend everything.
Edit:
In reference to the second part of quote, that no ninja blah blah blah, that's an OPINION of yours, and not a fact.
...
Dude stick to the manga. Idk where you came from with all of that. Show me in the manga that Enma did all of that.
Your arguments are joke, really.
I just gave you the real history of a character Kishi BURROWED from a larger cannon, shutting you down in the process as far as the animal shinobi villages are concerned, and you disregard the info? I'd try to save face too if my lack of sense, and comprehension, as it relates to the story, was becoming apparent... .
Ok, so you only want facts straight out the manga, well then SHOW me where in the MANGA it states, specifically, that "Hiruzen is the strongest Hokage/Shinobi in the history of the Shinobi world". I want this source straight out the manga, and it must state this specifically. I'll wait. And you better not quote Iruka, because that argument has several counters and a BIG fail written all over it... (you can if you want, but you won't be doing yourself any favors, really)...
Actually, you know what, save it and spare me the wasted time I will never get back when I am compelled to respond to you. I think by now, an unspoken consensus has been reached by almost everyone in here, but yourself, of course, that you have no clue what you're talking about.
If you want to believe that the 3rd is the strongest shinobi ever, then by all means, believe away. Good day to you...

the thing is. ive already proved him wrong already multiple times. A quote from Iruka and a nickname isnt enough. The databook will be his next thought. But the databooks of past are now shown to have inconsistencies. But youre supposed to overlook that and just take them as fact.
Also, hiruzen struggling against 2 braindead edos is the greatest fight in the history of naruto hands down. Nobody can do any better than to slightly hinder oro. Itachi, nah. nagato, nah. Super kyuubi mode naruto? nah. 70 year old hiruzen was the only 1
When Madara said that, he was talking about himself being the 2nd sage: (having both blood lines at once is what makes u the sage. first it was Rikudo, then him, then Nagato.) Hashirama beat Madara. Granted it was pre-his having the rinnegan by stealing Hashirama's cells, but what he meant by that statement is Hashi was the closest thing naturally born to the Rikudo.-called the 1st the closest thing to the Rikudo
-so Nagato and the other Sage is what exactly? Madara said that Nagato was the 3rd sage meaning that it's impossible for the 1st to be the closest thing.
-you said oonoki can beat the 3rd
C'mon son. It's known the 3rd was the strongest kage at the time of his death.
This will be my last post about this debate. I just want y'all to know that not once did I go outside the narutoverse. I brought everything I said from the manga. You've changed up everything you've said this whole debate bro. I said eliminate the what ifs because we don't know what Hiruzen can do in his prime so it's no point in asking why certain Justus's weren't used. It happened, deal with it. Like I said, there has been no fight close to the handicap put on Hiruzen.
The 1st and 2nd are Wilt/Kareem/Bird/Magic/Julius/whoever else you want. The 3rd may have been Jordan (just based off accomplishments) and Minato would have been Lebron. But who in that group is the best? It's all opinion and speculation on what if's -- i.e. well if the 2nd had been alive, the third would never have become the hokage. We know for a fact that at some point Minato was stronger than Sarutobi. That could have been because of the decline of age, but still.I think it's along the same lines of people saying now Michael Jordan is the best basketball player ever while they've never seen Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and so forth. Iruka had only seen the 3rd and 4th Hokage (and he was a kid when the 4th died), so he could say he's the strongest Kage I've ever seen and that would be more accurate than ever.
4th Hokage>>>>> IDC IDC IDC
