I recommend Death Note and Samurai Champloo. Mugen was that dude and each episode has like its own epiphany. I loved it and saw the anime twice.
For people who like sports I suggest Slam Dunk and Hajime no Ippo. Both anime starts out slow but you really get to know the character.

I was reading about Shinto and I learned about major kami names: Amaterasu, Susanowo, Izanagi, Tsukiyomi, and Izanami.
Anyone remember these names from Naruto?
Amaterasu: Sasuke's everlasting flame jutsu
Susanowo: Sasuke's skeleton shield
Izanagi: Danzo's genjutsu that he casts on himself
Tsukiyomi: Itachi's genjustu where time is slowed down
