Or, hear me out, how about Nike gets back to being even remotely creative with the AM1 line and create something fresh, instead of just pumping out retros of classics?
I hear ya but there’s always room for both.

Nike has been pumping out tons of “fresh” new am1s like every month, sometimes every week. From GRs to special releases like the recent Oregon Duck pairs. Can’t really complain since there are plenty of good solid cw’s readily available.

One things for sure, Nike knows the marketing power of nostalgia. With that being said, they will continue to bring back fan favorites. Whether it’s a highly coveted OG, or a super limited collab from the golden years. Many of us never had the originals. They’re just too expensive, too rare, and too old to wear. So if Nike can bring back a true retro of a “grail”, count me in.

In my opinion, the only decent retro of an AM1 ever was the Elephant - which was 7 1/2 years ago now. Every other retro Nike has made has been off in one way or another. The only other retro that was also well done, in my opinion, was the 86 Big Bubble - but that's sort of a shoe/discussion entirely onto its own.

The anniversary pairs are very nice, imo

They were pretty meh looking back, although I own all 4

-The very fake cheap smooth suede
-In top-view the toebox alway looked semi-offset (there seemed to be too much fabric on the lateral side of each shoe, which also caused creasing on that area) but more cws from this era also had this
-Midsoles were bricks
-The extreme shiny finish on the midsoles, no way OGs had this

One of the best recent retros (as in capturing the real look & feel of lightweight 80s performance shoes) were imo the '21 teal Structures. Had they made Annis in a similar build, they would have been much better

Anyone have any code for sneaker room? Thats the 1 site no matter what email I sign up with to get promos, I don’t receive anything at all

The structure triax is one of the best, and those had the same cheap felt. But nothing compares to the 2020 infrareds, with the same cheap felt. Wasnt the og am1 the cheap felt, as well? After coming from the dark ages, the recraft am1 was light years better, so maybe my opinion is a little skewed coming from someone who used to iron their shoes, lol.

Usually you want to check with them on Saturdays when there is a Jordan release around 6:20 EST that's when they send out emails with the promo code
