I'm always curious about this 'cost focus' for sneakers. As an old dude, this was never really much of an aspect of people's interest in sneakers (I'm talking back in the 80s and early 90s). Now, economics is THE most prolific aspect of sneakers. Personally, the ONLY part of how much sneakers cost to me is whether I can afford them. It's basically a question of "how badly do I want them and can I afford them". Besides that, I don't care if I, or anyone else, pay $50 or $5000 for the same pair. Does that make sense? I mean, if I see someone with a dope pair, it's not like they're any cooler (to me) if they got them for a steal. And in the same vein, they're not any less cool because the person paid what is perceived as too much for them. They're just cool sneakers to me. The idea of 'value' is only interesting/important if you're looking to re-sell items, in my opinion (well, and in terms of insurance, I suppose). Anyway, I know I'm old and different, but it's just still weird to me how the vast majority of talk regarding a new sneaker release is about the price, and so much less about materials, colors... etc.
