i'll concede this much... Ed Helms does crack me up. But everything he does makes me laugh, even off this show.

Well I don't think Dwight sleeping with that girl is totally off base. He's attracted women before, Kelly kissed him at the firstChristmas party, obviously he dated Angela, that women's basketball player at the club in NYC liked him too. So it isn't that far-fetched that Dwightcan get a girl, it's just that he's so awkward it usually won't happen.Originally Posted by Craftsy21
It's really not funny though. Not to me. It's just trying to exist in this realm of like still trying to have realistic settings, but writing storylines that are just completely unbelievable. It's not working.
You either stay subtle and witty, or you go full blown craziness. It takes a lot of skill to pull off what they're trying to do, and that's why they're failing.
Like Dwight sleeping with that chick.. it just makes no sense to his character that they've built up now for 4+ years.. i don't get what they're doing. Nor why someone like you, who can admit the show is extremely flawed now, still thinks this gag is funny.
I'm really interested in hearing more on what you think about this all..
Actually, it is. It's funny to see Dwight get some action and pull it off so suavely, but it's only entertaining because that's so NOThim. If you remember "Hot Girl" from Season One, he couldn't even talk with Katie. The reason why Dwight and Angela seemed so real was that theywere both social outcasts. That was the one backplot I actually liked, because things like that happen in real life.Originally Posted by Big J 33

I also have a loyalty to shows even after they go downhill. Case in point, The Simpsons
Right.. i mean, at least you understand my conflict right now. I want to stop watching, because I just hate it for the most part.. but i used tolove the show so much, I just keep tuning in like it's going to improve only to get angry that it hasn't.
I almost wish they had just made this into a spin off somehow, like have Jim or Dwight become the boss of the office after season 3, and eliminateMichael's character from the show except for maybe a few cameo's... something, anything than what they've done which is beat dead horse.
