like maybe the first of January create a thread that could be stickied to the first page
and in it we say that what ever nter that posts maybe a wish they have or something they want
and at the end of the year we grant that wish. all during the year we could contribute or use money from the ads to help an nters dream or something come true. anybody who been a member say more than like 2-3 years able to post maybe a wish or something and a short summery of why they want it and how come they havent been able to achieve it themselves or something like that. idk it SOUNDS like a good idea. im not saying it has to be elaborate like what they did for the make a wish thing for the batkid or anything. But lets say for instance u started it this January and someone in the thread posted that idk they needed help with medical bills from an injury. or a person on here who has kids and works constantly and posted that he wishes he had a few extra dollars so he could take a vacation to get away for 3-5 days and at the end of the year all the money or not all but u know we can contribute to a lil vacation for him and his fam to like disneyland or to go to seaworld. or something as simple as books for school. it would be like a yearly or maybe a every 6 month thing and there be like a limit on how long u have been a member. and make sure the thing is legit. it could even be something like helping someone find their long lost dad or something idk but i just think it would be a nice community thing. i also understand it would be a hassle and all that but its just an idea

I agree that this sounds like a really well intended idea, though, as you've anticipated, there are many complications to consider.
As a policy, NikeTalk donates to known nonprofit organizations rather than individuals. So, for example, establishing scholarship programs through a nonprofit that NikeTalk members could apply for offers us greater protection and security than sending money directly to individuals.
It's unfortunate that the many trustworthy individuals out there are subjected to scrutiny due to the behavior of the selfish few, but one bad experience can sour users for years and damage the reputation of the site. As such, anything "official" really does need to run through those proper channels.
That said, nothing prevents users from organizing something like this on their own. It's been attempted with great success on a number of occasions. This summer, a user created a topic to help raise money to cover medical expenses for a young girl he knew (I believe her name was Malia), and NT came through in a big way. The annual "secret santa" threads have gone tremendously well and we're always very proud to see such positive user-initiated traditions flourish.
It's something that can be attempted, but I hope you understand why our "official" support (in terms of featuring the content or providing funding) has to be limited given that we really don't have the ability to properly investigate each prospective beneficiary to ensure that there's no potential for fraud/abuse.
If something goes wrong with a user initiative, it's easier to restore trust than if something goes wrong with a NikeTalk initiative.

all the while maybe coming up with a good idea to raise money for it (nt shirts or hats maybe) maybe every member can help by donating 1-5 dollars idk its just a thought. if u guys dont want to i understand but if u do and we can all agree or at least come up with some guidelines and/or rules then lets do it
