The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Everything went as expected but one thing i did learn is that Gunnar is a serious ******* problem.

Super technical in all areas and stylistically i think dude is gonna cause some issues in the top 10.

Plus my man McGregor is going to benefit tremendously by working with him :smokin

Anyone catch TUF Brazil on fight pass yesterday? Any worthwhile incidents between Sonnen and Silva?

How many of you got the Fight Pass? Isn't worth it to me if ppv's aren't included.

Fight Pass isn't worth it to me. And it kinda seems like most of the people that got Fight Pass are reporters that need it to cover all UFC events.

I had Fight Pass since it was released and cancelled right before the paywall went up.

No real reason to shell out cash for it right now.

I won't be getting up at odd hours to watch International fights and I'm sure as hell not throwing down $10 a month to watch TUF Brazil.

I am hoping Lawler will win this coming weekend. But when I think about every aspect of MMA (striking, TDD, wrestling, grappling etc), I only see the diversity in his striking as his only advantage over hendricks. I don't like hendricks that much but I think he has a higher chance of winning (he also has a higher chance of whining). Anything can happen though. But I hope he will wrap his hands better and do more than 70% hahaha.

What do you think guys?

Just watching Hendricks defeat pretty much every contender and arguably GSP, I just don't think he will go down to lawler. Hendricks as faced the top level of every type of fighter too.

Hendricks wins his belt back on Saturday, book it. :smokin :lol

His wrestling is the trump card, he could ragdoll Lawler for five rounds if he wanted.

^ Werdum is so dangerous on the mat. If he continues to improve his striking he could definitely challenge Cain.

And Hendricks not making weight his first try is a little surprising. For one its a title shot so his weight should be on point and two, he's working with Dolce.

After today, I'm starting to think that we will never see Cyborg vs Rousey. Talking with reporters, Rousey said that she would love to fight Carano and would have no problem giving her an immediate title shot. She even said that she would fight Carano at a catchweight. She always resisted fighting Cyborg at a catchweight but would Carano? It just makes her look scared in my opinion.

That gif of Johnny though... Son looked crushed :{

Gastelum came in at 172lbs and my man Shields looked like a straight walker...

Some brutal weight cuts for this event it seems. Hopefully it doesn't effect the outcome of the fights too much.

On the flip side Diego looked great. I'm expecting another nightmare performance :evil

Johnny missed weight. No 1lb over for the title fight either.

He was at 171.5 and needs to cut to 170 in 2 hours. And he already looked WIPED.

I may throw some money on Lawler now :lol

Apparently Nick Diaz was at the weigh ins talking smack, saying he could make the weight and step in by 3am :lol

UPDATE: Johny Hendricks went back to the scales and was able to make the 170-pound limit on his second attempt, meaning his title fight against Lawler is now official for Saturday night. Both fighters hit the mark for the welterweight limit, and the championship is officially on the line.

We are on!
