After that came out, Dana said he talked to Aldo's people and everything was fixed. Supposedly the problem was that Aldo didn't think he'd get the perks associated with being a champion heading into the fight. Which I think is probably a money thing. After that, Aldo's people were on board with everything. He'd vacate the title and fight Pettis. If he lost he could stay at 155 or decide to move back down and get the next title shot at the champion. The only thing they were waiting on was to see if Pettis would be ready to fight in July.
Aldo always flirts with moving up but he always stays. The latest report was his camp was trying to say that Aldo and Pettis could meet at a catchweight so Aldo wouldn't have to vacate his title. So it's obvious that Aldo wants to move up to 155 eventually but he for sure has a hesitation to vacate. If dude came out and said I vacate my title and Dana didn't make that fight with Pettis then I'd say Aldo would have something to complain about.
I understand from Aldo's perspective if he didn't want to wait on Pettis' health.
