The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

I get all that.

I kind of misread the quote (faded). I thought he meant other Cesar Gracie fighters would leave the UFC.

So my point was, that's a pretty hollow threat right now unless there's someone else in that camp I'm unaware of.

But re-reading it, he probably meant it in the broader sense.

Agreed, the Skrap Pack don't have that much leverage right now. Shields puts me to sleep. Nick is "retired". And Nate is chilling on the sidelines at 155 waiting to fall *** backwards into a Main Event.

Dana has been a prick lately but he is running the only legit game in town. I don't care who you are, that UFC belt is the ultimate goal.

No I think that Cesar was talking about both Diaz bros and Shields leaving. The problem is that Nick is basically retired and only willing to fight for the belt. Nate still has another fight left on his contract. Don't really know about Shield's contract but he wouldn't be missed too much and UFC would let him walk. And except for maybe Nick, Cesar doesn't manage any of the others.

I really think Gil made a strong power move but Dana has a huge ego. I could see him telling Gil that they don't want him and to go sign with Bellator. Then he'll take some shots at him and Bjorn. Only way I see Gil staying is if Lorenzo puts Dana in his place and does what he thinks is best for business.

I don't really hold Dana nor Gil guilty for doing what they had to do. Who knows what terms Gilbert was asking for. Gilbert was also ducking Khabib, which is a fight that fans want to see. Again, I don't know what Dana was offering Gilbert, but gun to my head I would say it was more fair than not.

Gilbert's hand was forced so he did what he had to do. Props to him for finding a deal, but really wherever he went he was going to get money thrown at him.

Cesar acting like his guys are something special, fall back dude. I love the Diaz brothers as much as any fan, but they're both crybabies and one is such a crybaby he retired after getting his *** handed to him. The other brother talks crap on guys who have destroyed him in the recent past. They both are so stubborn and refuse to adapt to the wrestling that has become such a big part of MMA. It's a joke.

As much as I love Gilbert too, he doesn't make or break the division. I honestly wouldn't care if he went to Bellator, at least I'd get to see him go up against Chandler and perhaps a few other notable guys.

For the past 2-3 weeks everything UFC related has been a **** storm. Thiago Silva, injuries, Dana constantly being a ***** and now this.

I expect Dana to explain details of what they offered Gilbert soon. Then I'll judge if Dana was being stupid or not.

This is Bjorn's opportunity to pounce. Pry away Gil, lockup Eddie long-term, sway the Cesar Gracie camp to Bellator. Sign Askren as boring as he is, bring in Fitch since his stock is low being tapped by Burkman, Koreshkov, Lima, and Hawn at 170. Put a dent in the MMA "monopoly."

Fight Night predictions:
Machida 48-47 decision, Jacare sub, Silva sub.

:smokin agreed.

IDK why but I believe Cummins man. I believe him when he said he broke Cormier back in the day.

Cormier is a different beast now obviously.

Silva

Didn't really get to see much from him though

This is worse than the dunk contest so far

edit: heating up a tiny bit 1-1

Talent level was stupid high in that fight. Crazy technical. Still, nobody is leaving that fight satisfied.

Machida needs to fight Jacare for a shot at the Middleweight strap. Makes too much sense for the UFC to book, tho.

No way Lyoto and Jacare will fight right now.

Machida was pretty damn impressive in that fight and idk how the hell Gegard just ate that first head kick like it was nothing.

Pretty sure that kick KO's damn near everyone walking on this planet, :lol

He damn near shut out Mousasi in a 5 round fight.

If Jacare would've finished maybe I could see an argument for it, but I'm pretty sure Machida is getting the next shot.

I think the only way it happens is if they both want to stay busy, because Weidman/Vitor isn't for another 3 months.

I don't know if I see Jacare vs Machida. Machida was wearing a boot and limping badly after the fight so who knows whats wrong with him. Jacare said that he almost pulled out of this fight with an arm injury and needs surgery.

I'd like to see machida fight for the belt his next fight.

Agree with Hyper that first head kick was :x would have put damb near everyone else to sleep

I won't be upset at whatever the UFC does for the next title shot. I can see arguments for both Machida and Souza getting it. I could also see a logical match between the two to settle the next contender.

Mousasi disappointed the heck out of me
