Fitting end to Rousey's hype.
She used Floyd to prop herself up as some sort of people's champion, tried to destroy his character. Was proven a hypocrite when she started dating Travis Browne who has his own history of DV.
Joe Rogan and Dana White both have attacked boxing for over a decade, proclaiming that the sport is dead.
And made Rousey out to be some sort of generational talent instead of what she really is. An olympian judoka whose standup is severely limited.
Her ego got the best of her and she decided to stand and throw with a woman who entered the octagon waving the flag of her martial art, boxing.
And her poor stand up offense/defense finally led to her demise.
Poetic Justice.
As fan of both boxing and MMA, I hope this puts to rest the rivalry between the two sports and that people see boxing's role in MMA. Just like wrestling is a keystone discipline in MMA, boxing is as well.
