The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Pitbull saying it's him and Aldo at the top of 145. That Conor is too slow. I would like to see Pitbull in the UFC

GSP said that Silva was too big and thats why he wouldn't fight him at 185 lbs. No way he fights Weidman who's bigger. But I could see him accepting a fight with Machida.

Yeah, no way he'd want Weidman

he'd get checked by a top 145 fighter upon arrival just like alvarez

That makes no sense tho, only superfight is silva. If not go for the title at ww

Omfg was not expecting Royce Gracie to walk out wow him vs shamrock is like a 20 year reunion and kimbo vs dada 5000 has been a huge rumor forger wow I'm stunned at there's announcements

Yeah, seriously. Some of their main events are all sorts of stupid.

WTH is a dada5000? :{

The year is 2015 and these idiots are making main events and co-main events with shamrock, royce gracie, and kimbo. The minor leagues keep getting even more minor.

There should be a rule no one can have the nickname pitbull anymore or assassin.

Still a fan of Michael Chandler but dude was fighting a stupid caveman character again. He also still doesn't care about defense when having those wild standup exchanges. I don't see him being champion again unless he protects his chin.

I forgot to mention angle. Who the hell is he fooling acting like he might fight? Dude is one suplex away from being paralyzed. No athletic commission would clear him to fight.

That's why I mentioned Weidman. But if 185ers are too big and there's no way I see him making 155, what "superfights" are there?

None. Just WW fights.

Nobody said 185ers, we said Weidman. Silva has fought at 170 before and I'm sure it would be a catch weight.

I was responding to "GSP said Silva is too big". There are no other "superfights" at 185 right now unless someone knocks Weidman off.

And that's the only weight class outside of a WW title run/fight that would make sense.

It all makes sense if you follow all of the replies on the last page.

So who does he fight?

GSP wanted Silva to come down to 170-175 lbs. His reasoning was that Silva gets up to 220-230 lbs and he only gets up to 190 lbs. I think he even said that it would be easier for him to fight at 155 lbs than 185 cause a lot of 155'ers weigh around the same as him.

The super fight talk only came up because Rory said GSP is more interested in possible superfights than he is competing for the title.

If GSP wants to comeback his best options are to compete for the title at 170, fight Diaz again in a prize fight thats just for money, or move up and fight Silva at 180-185 lbs cause I think anything under 180 lbs would be too much with the IV ban. Nothing at 155 lbs makes sense and Machida doesn't really make sense but I mentioned him because he is a former champ and did say he was considering a move to 170 lbs but this was before the IV ban.

Silva would have been WW Rumble status trying to cut all the way to 170.

Did GSP say that moving down to 155 would be easier recently? He's put on a lot of muscle over his career. He's older. IVs are banned now. Would seem tough.

And the fights just aren't there. Diaz fight is somewhat marketable as a big money fight even though he already beat him.

If he really wants superfights as Rory said, they just don't seem to be there like they were before or right around the time he retired.

He could go the boxing route where he tries to set up big money catchweight bouts that drain his opponents enough to make it competitive. Which I guess was the though in getting Anderson to 170.

I'm all for a Lawler fight though.

I'd like to see the two cowboys fight somewhere down the line. Both are very entertaining and can have a horserace after.

Does reebok only make fight uniforms in black and white? Such a crappy and boring company. They actually showed someone in the crowd with one of the fight kit shirts. Hope he didn't pay full price for it.
