The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

I think that's the reason they threw jacare romero on there as well. In case someone gets injured they can step in

Sidenote, where the f is tj grant

tj grant is sitting out because of his multiple concussions and got a regular job to help pay the bills. hopefully he can return but so much has changed since his injury that he probably has to work his way up back the rankings.

"As fast as possible, so no one suffers, including me, and we can come back home quickly to eat and celebrate," Aldo said during a Q&A session on Combate’s Facebook page. "My last fight was a war, but we’ll suffer way less this time."

Despite his plans for a quick victory, the Nova Uniao featherweight won’t mind going into a 25-minute fight with McGregor, who finished Chad Mendes in two rounds in July.

"It doesn’t matter if I’m going in there and finishing his quickly, if I’m punching him once and he goes down," he said. "The important is that I’ll come out victorious, it doesn’t matter what I’m going to do in there."

Forced out of UFC 189 with a controversial rib injury, Aldo is slowly returning to training.

"We still have four months, so we’re slowly starting (my camp)," said the champion. "When we’re nine weeks away (from the fight), we’ll work harder and more focused on the fight. For now, be cool, I’m slowly coming back to training."

"I'm hoping to fight around that time, anyway," Edgar told Severe MMA's Andrew McGahon in Bahrain. "Then I don't have to worry about it. I'll be in camp anyway if something comes up. I really do think [Aldo and McGregor] are going to fight this time around, but you never know. I was ready to jump in on 15 days notice. No matter what I'll be ready to go again."

"I think I should be the guy, no matter what," said Edgar. "I do want to fight again. I don't want to wait until [Aldo and McGregor] fight and then how many months after that. I've got to take care of business but I believe I am the No. 1 contender."

"I feel like I'm competitive [at 145 pounds] and I feel like I'm right there," said Edgar. "I'm one fight away. I think I could probably not fight and still get the title shot. I think I've earned that. Why would I knock on the door and not wait for someone to answer and leave? I don't think I'll ever rule out 135 in the future. Who knows? Right now, 145 is my goal."

Aldo better freakin win or i'll find him and kick him in the ribs myself.

Too close to call for me. I don't see Aldo stopping Conor but I could see him outpointing him by volume

I have never seen Aldo even get close to being KO'd but I feel like Conor is capable

Stylistically I wonder if Aldo tries to wrestle Conor at all or get him to the ground

When does TUF stop filming? I could see Conor being physically and emotionally spent with non stop training and the whirlwind he's been on. That could play a factor in this fight as well. How much rest will he even have before beginning to train again for the fight

Conor will go for the knockout no doubt. Aldo will go for volume and points. Fight goes the distance with Aldo winning IMO

Those Aldo kicks are enough for me to never want to even attempt MMA ever
lol.

funny thing is, it hurts more often than not to check a kick than to be kicked.

there's about 2 inches on the tibia where it doesn't hurt to check a kick. i remember the first time i checked a kick in muay thai. i fell to ground and writhed in agony. my buddy, who threw the kick, did the same.
