The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

OSP's takedown defense was awful.  Don't know what happened because he was so good in his win against Cummings.

Pretty much, he needs to head to a camp like blackzilians or att
or any other top camp for that matter

maybe he can go to Kings, they just "beat" blackzillians bruh

Need to see the striking stats on the mj fight. Heard it was close so it is what it is. Mj had like 100% center control

Based off eye test I thought it was clear mj win at least 2-1

I wonder what they do with rothwell and stipe

Btw Michael Johnson had 35 sig strikes to dariush 22 in round 2

Rewatched the fight, NO WAY Dariush won rd 1 or 2, wasn't a blowout but it was very obvious who won

There's just no way man

a number of fighters were disgusted with the decision

Two judges gave Dariush round 2. I just don't see how that's remotely possible

Dariush landed zero takedowns, got outstruck, got knocked down, and gave up octagon control virtually 99% of the fight

Yup he didn't win any of the 4 categories in rd 1 or 2. Oh well onto the next one.

Holloway gonna wax oliveira then he deserves a top 5 guy, give him mendes or lamas

tbh if Holloway destroys Oliveria I believe he'll have a strong case for a title shot. Beating Cub and Oliveira is impressive, not to mention it would be a 7 fight win streak

First things first though, give Frankie his damn shot

The ufc needs to have its own unbiased judges away from the arena doing a 2nd group of judges to make sure they judge based off tv the fans at home see. Then ally of this mess would be cleared up

I dunno if the ufc should be the ones to hire their own judges but the athletic commissions suck at doing a lot of things and don't even acknowledge their mistakes. Judges who keep turning in stupid scorecards should be gone.

Just watched the Holzken - Daniels fight. Nieky was lighting him up in the 3rd. Nasty cut.
Cat needs to bless us with another beautiful cameltoe weigh-in pic.

Sad that my bae Sara McMann had a bad loss.

Pic of said camel toe? I remember her *** poking out at the rousey weigh in

That Borg vs Herrera fight was wild.

One of the best ground fights i've seen in MMA.

i rewatched the fight. johnson got to start finishing fights. rd 2 was toss up and anything can happen when it's close and you leave it to judges. dariush counter punching and landed some nice punches which clearly slowed johnson down. aside from the big punch in the first rd, he didnt really his dariush with anything significant after. looked like he was sparring and contempt with what he did in the 1st. dariush face was pretty clean after the fight.
had it for johnson, but wouldn't call it a "robbery"

Johnson gets knockdowns and he's definitely winning fights on the feet but his style looks so basic to me. 1-2 repeat over and over, and load up on the 2 where it looks like he's throwing a fastball. He won that fight but I think a dude with some boxing game is gonna eventually give him some work.

How was round two a toss up

Johnson landed 35 sig strikes in round 2 compared to 22 for Dariush

Again, Johnson outstruck, landed a knockdown, owned the octagon control and was not taken down a single time

It was close to if not a robbery

what does significant strikes even mean? i'm not big on stats, but just watching the fight, it didnt look like johnson hurt him.
like i said, i would've leaned toward johnson, but it wasn't like he was picking dude apart in that round.

Power shots? Not sure what the exact criteria is tbh. Every single statistical category favored Johnson

Na, nobody was saying Johnson picked dude apart at all or that Johnson hurt him. Just that there's no single way Dariush won the fight. By the eye test or statistically

He did nothing to win that fight so I could easily see why a lot of folks were saying it was a robbery

I would say Dariush won round 3. That's about it. So even though it wasn't a blowout to me, it was still a clear decision... but that's what you get with human judges, everyone has their own opinions. I can only go off what I saw and statistics

just my opinion, but MJ did nothing the second half of the fight to say he convincingly won that match. all i saw was dariush landing his jab consistently to finish a close bout. if you want to be a top 5 guy, you got to finish that fight or at least finish strong

i didnt pay attention to the commentary the first time watching, but was surprised that the commentators (florian?) saw it as a landslide for MJ

Breh, what the hell is going on over in Brazil

The NSAC’s paperwork also includes the negative result from a seventh fighter, UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo, whose test was conducted via urine on June 12 after two failed attempts in the previous two days. Chad Mendes, who replaced the UFC featherweight champ after he was injured, was tested six days before the fight via blood and urine and twice on fight-night – pre-fight via urine and post-fight via urine and blood. Mendes passed all exams.
