The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Apparently she got 'jumped' in her own gym :\

Dana super heated on twitter.

She supposedly tore her ACL, MCL, LCL, meniscus, and possibly her hamstring.

Dog......

What?

How the **** does that even happen? She sparring with Lions? I hope she recovers man, that's devastating

I'm trying to get the story from Sherdog. From the few pages I've read. A dude was bullying her at her gym, during training she got attacked malicious from behind. She braced herself for a fall and blew out her knee.

But that doesn't even make sense. A knee that bad is usually is cause by something crashing into the knee, got the usually force+twisting tears.

Anyway, if this is true homeboy deserves the civil and legal systems to come down on him. Just a lil street justice won't hurt too. Disgusting

-Too put into context. Remember Millis McGahee gruesome knee injury. Homegirl's leg has more damage to it than his had :x

Whoever did this, and if it was truly malicious, needs to be arrested and charged with assault

According to Dana,
"It’s the worst injury I’ve ever heard of, ever, in this sport, and you hear about those types of injuries in football," he said. "Apparently, when she came into the gym -- and again, she was hysterical when I talked to her, crying -- she was training in her gym and one of her training partners, a guy, was saying to her, ‘oh, you’re wearing your Ultimate Fighter shirt, we’re real scared.’ He says that and was talking smack to her and then basically attacked her.

"He jumped on her back, started cranking her neck, and the way she fell her knee blew out. The most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard in my life. A year-and-a-half to two years she’ll be out, and I told her to leave that disgusting gym and go somewhere else with new coaches, new training partners, whatever. And that’s all I know."
But Pena's coach is saying something completely different.
When told that this version of the story differed from that of her coach, Rick Little’s version of what happened -- which was that Pena, in her over-eagerness, didn’t do the proper warm up and was training with some guys before he had arrived to oversee it -- White said that wasn’t what he was told.
And in other news, they're trying to put the Silva vs. Sonnen fight on the Weidman vs Belfort card. Makes sense to me. Sonnen is huge draw and they're gonna try to build Weidman up. So have Sonnen on the card so a bunch of people can see him fight.

The Pena story doesn't make a ton of sense to me yet, either.

I read on The UG that some guy was making fun of her for wearing her TUF gear and jumped on her back, and her knee buckled. But damn, I don't get how that straight up blows up your knee. :{

And that Sonnen/Silva Weidman/Belfort card would be :Nthat

So hyped for this weekend! Got tickets to Joe Rogans stand up Friday night, tickets to UFC 169 on Saturday and hanging with my peeps for Super Bowl Sunday. :hat

^^^^

Ceronne needs a top 10 guy. It'll be fireworks regardless

Watching the UFC 169 Scrum now, Dana saying he is giving the green light to Aldo to vacate the belt and move up to fight Pettis. Sounds like Dana is ready make the fight since Thomson lost. Aldo told Ariel that he was waiting for the green light to move up in weight... I'm all for it. Dana went in on Nate Diaz lol, said "he's 1 and 3 in his last fights, he won't take the fight with Khabib, he's just waiting on the sideline to wait til someone falls off so he can get a title shot"

Bisping is going to fight Tim Kennedy

This Pena story is starting to get a little weird. On one side you have Pena's coach and training partners saying it happened during a regular training session for her. Supposedly she and this 135 lb guy were training, they were up against the cage, the guy went for her back and got his hooks in and she tried a switch and that's when it all happened. But on the other side you have Dana saying some guy was ragging on her cause she was wearing her TUF gear, then jumped on her back and assaulted her.

But her full injury is devastating:
* Full thickness tear of the ACL

* High-grade partial versus full thickness of LCL

* Avulsion of the tibial insertion of the MCL with proximal ligament retraction

* Rupture of the biceps femoris tendon

* Tear of the posterior horn medial meniscus

* Moderate sized knee joint effusion
And if Aldo wins and moves up to 155 lbs, there's a chance Barao could move up to 145 lbs. Last year he was talking about how Aldo wants to move up and he wants to move up too. And the only reason he's at 135 lbs is because when he signed his deal with WEC, his trainer made him move down in weight to avoid the conflict.

I think her coaches are lying. Football players that have their legs chopped out don't blow out their knees that bad. And against a dude her size, and got moving at a high speed. Child please

Something aint adding up, from her injury it seem like they drove an SUV directly into her knee, not a regular sparring injury.

The crew behind those Reem documentaries is :smokin

not really. I tore every ligament and dislocated my knee cap from a jump cut on football field.

at Lineker not making weight the first trip to the scale. Dude is just asking for problems. Dana hints that you could possibly fight for the title with a win and you miss weight again? Why would you even mess around, he should have come in a half pound under just to be safe. He simply doesn't seem to belong at flyweight

Homegirl's injury is still worst that yours brah.

And you blewed out every ligament just by yourself, da hell. that's not common brah

Just to clarify because I haven't watched the last couple of prelims online.. they are no longer doing them on facebook? They are on UFC TV which is free (I hope)?
