The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

mighty mouse and tj 8o
Would like to see that but Johnson seems very content at 125. He has a few more challenges there. Tj does too at 135.

Main problem is nobody is clamoring for that match. If it was a potential big money maker I think it actually happens, both said they're down if paid a million each. That's not happening lol

Frankie going to 135 to me is doable and realistic since 145 gonna be jammed up

I love the matches sherdog proposed:

Barboza vs ferguson
Luzon vs Duffy

Wonder who pettis gets. He called out Nate Diaz and said he'd fight khabib too

Good fights.

Tony would beat Barboza imo. He struggles against pressure fighters.

LW is a mess

Pettis, Khabib, Alvarez have no clear matches. Although they could probably just make Pettis vs Khabib

Ferguson and Barboza are on the uptick

Johnson, with a win over Dariush, arguably has a case for a title shot or at least a #1 contender eliminator

Bobby Green lurking

For 135 my ideal situation would be

On the same card: TJ v Cruz and Assuncao v Sterling (or Faber). That way if Cruz is hurt in training they can move someone up

If Cruz can't go at all, I'd do TJ v Assuncao with Sterling going up against Faber. Assucano being the last man to beat TJ would be a nice storyline

If Assuncao can't go then I'd give the shot to Sterling

If they want to bring Frankie down, so be it

if Dodson wants to move up he has a chance with his power and quickness and he has beaten tj

mighty mouse and tj 8o

Im obv not a regular or afficinado but these two are probably 2 of the top 5 most skilled fighters in the sport imo. The way they can change from southpaw to traditional. Wrestle.strike and sub... Beautiful to watch

Fun to watch... would def stream that one hah

Dodson is fighting DJ for the 125 title next.. if he loses then maybe

Follow the buzzards or $$$.

125 and 135 are so shallow that besides a Cruz/Dillashaw or Cruz/Barao fight, it would make more sense to make a super fight between TJ and DJ.

Besides Dodson, who else is at 125. They're scraping bottom of the barrel.

135 is a little better with Faber/Dillashaw, Cruz/Barao, Cruz/Dillashaw, etc.

But seriously 115 and 135 women, 125, 135 and 205 (to an extent so is HW) are all pretty shallow when compared to LW, MW, FW and WW.

TJs hands and foot work are insane. He took Barao apart quite easy.

jessica had the much quicker hands and was lighting her up in the first
Jessica Eye disappointed my yesterday. Since her (overturned) win over Sarah Kaufman, I felt Eye was a legitimate potential challenger to Ronda Rousey's throne. Eye's boxing has been crisp for years. Not only accumulation, but power behind her shots. The loss to Alexis Davis is somewhat debatable.

Miesha beat Jessica with experience. Eye was destroying Tate with effective counter-punching, until Miesha landed the stiff jab and big overhand right in the latter portion of Round 1, which changed the entire complexion of the fight. Tate displayed improved striking, and was far more well-rounded in her MMA game than Eye. Miesha won most of the exchanges in the clinch and dominated Eye at every turn on the mat, although Jessica showed adequate submission defense.

Beyond the lack of a ground game from Jessica Eye, I saw weaknesses in her stand-up as well. She keeps her chin out instead of tucked, presenting a stationary and easy target. Her camp in Cleveland need to emphasize better defense and head movement in the future. Also, Jessica doesn't throw enough kicks for my liking.

Miesha gonna get her arm ripped off by Honda again.
Highlights the need for a Ronda vs. Cyborg bout even more.

Barboza vs ferguson
FOTY written all over it. Ferguson is a pretty relentless pressure fighter in the stand-up, and Barboza has the fastest switch kick in the game by far. "El Cucuy" is a brown belt in BJJ, and Barboza is no slouch with his grappling either.

Johnson, with a win over Dariush, arguably has a case for a title shot or at least a #1 contender eliminator
I actually expect Dariush to tap Michael Johnson. Johnson is vulnerable to the sub and Dariush is a top-notch grappler at 155. Plus Beneil has showed improved striking under Cordeiro, much like RDA and Werdum.

Bethe's chin is beyond sturdy doe
I saw Bethe light up Jessamyn Duke live in Baltimore, but she hasn't really fought sturdy competition. Correia certainly has nothing for Ronda on the mat. Rousey's taking her 0.

if Dodson wants to move up he has a chance with his power and quickness and he has beaten tj
Since Benavidez 1, Dodson is the only 125'er to come close to dethroning "Mighty Mouse." Had him stunned and almost out twice in their fight, actually rook 2 rounds off D.J. Where Dodson got killed was with Johnson's Muay Thai clinch. "Mighty Mouse" wrecked Dodson with knees and elbows.

Im obv not a regular or afficinado but these two are probably 2 of the top 5 most skilled fighters in the sport imo.
"Mighty Mouse" is likely the fastest overall fighter in the sport, and one of the most technically gifted.

Besides Dodson, who else is at 125. They're scraping bottom of the barrel.

TJs hands and foot work are insane.
Henry Cejudo is probably two fights away from seriously challenging D.J. Elite wrestling and his boxing is improving daily.

Another future 125'er I love as a title contender is Ray Borg. Also has great wrestling to go with a variety of submission attempts.

Cody Garbrandt got next for Team Alpha Male. I've been privately hyping him to @DeadsetAce prior to the Brimage victory. Fast, powerful hands to go with a solid wrestling base. He's going to challenge for the bantamweight title one day, and sooner than later.

I'm probably the only one who believes in Miesha. Flourish and beat that nasty looking honda.

i like miesha, but i really do not see anyone beating ronda.
if they can survive a round or two or go the distance that's a hell of an accomplishment. this girl finishes fights :x
they need that cyborg fight, cause i can see her finishing up her remaining fights left on the contract and do other stuff that will pay her just as much or even more.

Cejudo is there and I think he's fighting benavidez next so we shall see if he's next in line for a shot unless Dodson wins I could see dj getting an immediate rematch

I think TJ would rather go up and fight Conor or Aldo than go down in weight. There's been some **** slung back and forth between the himself and Conor and obviously Aldo has worked over a couple of his stable mates.

Her best chance was the second fight. She needs to land a big punch if they have a 3rd fight. That's the onky way she can win.

Miesha needs to train Muay Thai and TDD for 2 yrs before she **** with Ronda again.
