Anderson doesn't move the needle in terms of star power? Top 5 stupidest things I've heard all week. Thanks for the laugh.

I'm sure it didn't hurt that Dwayne's entire family was in the wrestling business. They don't owe it to any of the UFC or U.S. fans.
However, the UFC is a U.S. based company. On one hand Barao and Aldo can't complain about not earning enough money but then not try to learn English to help capitalize on endorsements or promote cards and draw a greater audience.
RDA, Dos Santos, Machida, Barao, Werdum, etc are not black. Race isn't the issue. The only color UFC cares about is green. It's probably why they protected JBJ for as long as they did.
And last time I checked, Mayweather isn't a humble dude and is caking from playing up the villain role. Ali was black and wasn't a humble dude. Dwayne Johnson is half black and got over in wrestling mostly for his personality and mouth.

Thanks. You obviously suffer from short term memory or revisionist history. I stated his fights with Chael Sonnen, Weidman and Diaz did great numbers. But let's be honest, he wasn't moving the needle before the First fight with Chael. He was vilified, Dana was getting tired of his lackluster performances, fans were booing. Not to say he wasn't a great MW champion but it took an opponent like Chael to finally make him a draw. 2007-2011 was a huge boom period for UFC with TUF on Spike and PPV buy rates averaging above 400K. But it took names like Rampage, Brock, GSP, Tito, Couture, etc to draw huge numbers. That's not a knock on the Spider. Like I mentioned before, the Brazilians are great fighters but the language barrier and small attempts to market cards hurt them from a business perspective. Dana can scream to the rafters how great Barao, Aldo and Anderson are but if the fans don't have a connection or the UFC isn't "Showing" it...Anderson doesn't move the needle in terms of star power? Top 5 stupidest things I've heard all week. Thanks for the laugh.
I agree. His family had/has a strong lineage in the wrestling industry. But Rocky is a transcendent superstar. Lightning in a bottle. Folks like Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, John Cena and Rocky don't come very often. They are huge names in and out of the wrestling industry. All of them have manage to parlay their success in the square circle to ventures outside of wrestling.I'm sure it didn't hurt that Dwayne's entire family was in the wrestling business.
I see Rory taking the title with his takedowns. Just has to stay clear of a bomb which I think he learned from their first fight
Thatch v Gunnar is nuts. Can't wait
Yeah, I remember the talk of anderson's drawing power not being as high as it should have been. The fights he had with maia and I think it was leites didn't help either. Dude was legit mad that those 2 grapplers didn't want to stand with him and weren't good enough to stand with him.
Nobody said that's how he got the title. Quiet down boyCould've said the same in his fight vs Hendricks....ppl still think robbie is just looking for one bomb....smh. guess he "one bombed" his way to a title
Not to mention he won the first fight by picking him apart the first rd with kicks and landing big punches the third
Nobody said that's how he got the title. Quiet down boy
The first time they fought it was a close decision, but Robbie landed a big bomb pretty much decided the fight. Rory was taking him down at will
Rory has a better gas tank than Hendricks, his striking is more diverse and both of these factors make his takedowns stronger than Hendricks. Don't compare Hendricks to Rory. Hendricks was 5/17 in takedowns in their second fight and only 2/10 in their first fightUr delusional kid
Not to mention Rory has who I believe is the best MMA strategist in his corner in Firas Zahabi.

In Rory v Lawler's first fight the striking numbers were similar and Rory was taking him down with ease (4/6). Lawler certainly won but Rory was right there. He just got caught with some bombs that changed everything. In a 5 round fight, if it goes 5 rounds, I expect Rory to double that number and not have the inefficiency Hendricks did due to having better stamina

Did you not read where I clearly said Lawler won. It was a close fight though, as it was a split decision and the striking numbers were closeDelusional son...."taking him down at will", but still lost...
"Land a bomb" to landing some bombs...when in reality he out struck him the first and third as a whole, not just one bomb as u say. Read the stats

Lawler landed bombs that clearly gave him the fight. At the same time Rory was taking him down at will and also keeping the striking numbers close. In a 5 round fight this time around Rory should increase the take downs while at the same time learn from his past mistakes. Which include fighting safe/point fighting, and avoiding those Lawler bombs. Will Rory win? I can't say for sure but he's my pick for the reasons I've listed
I swear you're one of the worst posters in this thread, it's just awful how your mind works when it comes to the sport
