The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Bendo would get destroyed by Woodley. he needs to go back to 155.

woodley/hendricks makes perfect sense imo

Woodley is weird, he has the power to KO anybody and he'll look like a killer against some guys and then **** the bed the next fight. Still don't understand what he was trying to do vs. Shields or Rory. He should beat Benson but who knows with that guy.

Benson just wants a fight. Doesn't matter if its at 155 or 170. He called out Pettis and Michael Johnson too.

Bendo can't progress at 155 cause he lost to Pettis 2x and got KO'd by RDA

bendo running infinite laps around woodley with his feet cut off

woodly is pretty damn good.

benson is great.

When it comes to Bendo's chin, heart, skills and grit there's no way I'll say he'd get destroyed by someone like Woodley. Woodley is a top caliber fighter as well but Bendo is not the type of fighter I say gets destroyed by many men. Woodley is not one of those men, as powerful as he is

I look at the RDA KO loss as the exception. RDA is either a MONSTER or he's on roids, that was just the punch from hell prefaced by a double knee to the chin + knee to the body

Didn't Aldo say Connor smacked him in the Toronto video?

When Aldo finally gets in the cage, it's going to be cathartic.

I seriously can't wait for this. Aldo is gonna come out SLINGIN!!

Oh and Rory and Robbie are getting ZERO shine :{ :lol They might aswel be on a different card.

they gonna go down to brazil to promote this event? wanna see conor pull off this nonsense/hype down there. hate/love him, dude is doing his best to generate buzz for this event :lol

What's woodley's ranking right now?
#3 welterweight. On a 2-fight win streak.

The physical composition difference between him and Gastellum was crazy.
And on top of that, Gastelum weighed in 180+. Yet looked like the far smaller, less physically imposing man.

woodley is like all muscle.
One of the most aesthetic guys in the sport, along with Lombard prior to getting pinched. The amount of heavy-hitters at 170 is astounding.

Bendo would get destroyed by Woodley.
"Destroyed" is a harsh assessment. "Bendo" has championship experience and weathered Thatch, who was bigger and has very good stand-up. Very unorthodox striking, including his knees. Thatch may not have "T-Wood's" one shot power, but Thatch is better technically in the stand-up, and more diverse with his arsenal.

Not saying "Bendo" wins, but a competitive decision either way. Plus Woodley didn't exactly exhibit a killer instinct against Gastelum. Sat on counters and power rights, which didn't seem to faze Gastelum's chin.

Still don't understand what he was trying to do vs. Shields or Rory.
Woodley was too green in his first title shot against Marquardt, and Shields' style neutralizes opponents to the point of boredom. "American jiu-jitsu" as he coins. No excuse for the "Rory Mac" loss, probably just tentative nerves. Afraid to grasp the moment.

I throw a * on the KO.
I do as well. "Bendo" had never been knocked out previously. Bit of an early stoppage for my taste regardless of the fighter. Won't go as far as a formal accusation, but there's looming suspicion surrounding RDA's newly found striking and power under Cordeiro.

It's not like Henderson's chin has eroded either. Didn't really get touched against "Cowboy," but certainly ate a good number of power shots from Thatch in the first three rounds.

Just saw this Sat ufc card is on at 10am? Are they going to replay it at night?
Main card starts at 1 PM EST, to avoid conflict with the Final 4. Replay begins 8 PM EST.

I recall Aldo telling his Brasilian coach traveling with him, Conor touched or grabbed the back of his neck. Not necessarily a smack though.

If Anthony Pettis didn't have my respect before for his athleticism and tae kwon do background, he certainly earned it in defeat. Graciously credited RDA's strategy and execution immediately after. Hasn't publicly entertained the unproven PED accusations whispered behind RDA's back, which would be an easy route to select. Admits he got beat up for five grounds. Concedes he thought about giving up and allowing dos Anjos to sink the kimura attempt.

Pettis spoke with Helwani briefly before leaving Milwaukee to vacation in Punta Cana. Said he's watched the fight at least five times to diagnose the problems he displayed against dos Anjos. Doesn't wish to fight on the same card as Sergio, bit of a distraction watching his little brother get knocked out after fighting a perfect first round. Open to fighting Nate Diaz, but more importantly wants to erase the loss to RDA in the immediate future. Doesn't have a medical timetable for clearance with the stitches and broken orbital bone. Also discussed wanting to get stronger and physically bigger since the weight cuts are a breeze.

"Showtime" will be back. It's hard for me to fully support him because of "Bendo's" two losses to him, but Roufus will help get him right. Takedown defense should come rather easily when Ben Askren trains in your camp. One of the best MMA wrestlers around along with Hendricks, Weidman, and Cormier. Also tightening up his movement, an aspect McGregor has made even more popular. Pettis was circling into power shots all night long, bit uncharacteristic for a fighter so good and comfortable on his feet.

I can't wait for Jose to wash this fool.

Dude is a clown

Then they feed him to the rest of the killers at 145.

As much as Conor talks about being the king he sure does hold his fork like a peasant.

That was just too much, **** is getting out of hand

Fight aint even gonna happen on time cuz someone gonna get injured

Wait I heard Dana shut down the Brazil Q&A early because it was getting outta hand against Conor

But he let that go down in Dublin :rolleyes

Gotta love Dana's consistency

Dana gives no dambs about consistency or what's fair. I do give him credit for making fights that fans want to see though, most of the time

I didn't think someone would become more hated than sonnen in brasil but that dummy has done a good job.

I'm still leaning an Aldo decision, but McGregor will certainly ask some telling questions with his unique movement and forcing Aldo to close the distance without getting hit clean or powerfully.

Chael is all over social media vaguely revealing that "Bones"/"Rumble" will not happen as scheduled for UFC 187. Wouldn't elaborate with evidence or reasoning.

Gotta love Dana's consistency
The Boston Q&A was a telltale sign of poor treatment the UFC would allow Jose Aldo to be subjected to. They didn't screen the questions and permitted trolls to ruin the session. To make matters worse, this is your undisputed Featherweight Champion. Hasn't lost since 2005 and has defended his belt 7 times successfully under the UFC banner. If you count the Hominick bout as a defense.

No challenger should be able to snatch the belt off the table from the champion. It makes for good TV and PR, but Dana White has to do better. Same with touching your opponent's neck, disrespectful and classless.

Aldo has done brilliantly to weather the media hailstorm and McGregor's antics, but it's quite visible his nerve and calm are beginning to crack.
