The MMA Thread: DON'T ASK 4 STREAMS & NO GIFS- Cannonier, Imavov, Reyes, Rosas on NOW

Interesting. For comparison, WNBA players are pissed about their salaries and they're estimated at around 22% of the revenue.

I mean to compare some leagues that are comparable in revenue to UFC, Australian Football League (Revenue $754M - average player makes $371k), MLS (Revenue of $851M - 669 players paid $249M = $372k average), Russian Premiere League ($813M - average player earns just over $1M per year), NASCAR ($660.8M), etc. The average salary of a "developmental" NASCAR driver is $500k with expected lifetime earnings of $12.5M

smh UFC roster need to form a union and negotiate a CBA

"The share of Zuffa event revenues going to fighters as compensation ranged from 18.6% to 20.5% from 2011 to 2013."

Been saying for a long time these guys really get paid nothing. Take into account if they make 100k on a card, after paying for your camp, travel expenses, hospital bill, and potentially only fighting once or twice a year how much are you really making for a career that is solely based on how you did in your last fight?

think about the fighters that are on 12k/12k

If there was ever a time in his life for him to do it, it's now

It'd be one thing for an unproven fighter but dude has paid his dues

Yeah. But Paradigm, Domination and Dana calling the shot.

Dana pretty much echoed what I said. Jorge too big.

It's not that serious, you can't fault the man for trying. He also has a legitimate claim to fight Usman, so it's not really that unreasonable a thing for him to do

So Colby and Tyron don’t either?

Why not make Tyron/Masvidal? He said he’s not here for high fives.

Woodley deserves a title shot?

It’s either Colby or Jorge, it would be funny if they made them fight each other for the interim

Man, it's the warrior spirit in "Cowboy." He just can't help himself. First he wanted the Ferguson rematch, which was bad news. I see that fight playing out exactly like the first one, if not worse. Now Cerrone is taking on Gaethje in a 5-round main event war. An opponent who does nothing but come forward and apply pressure. Gaethje definitely ain't 'fresh' for a guy who only has five UFC fights. Takes tons of damage and absorbs plenty of strikes each bout. On the plus side, "Cowboy" is undefeated in Canada. 4-0. Vagner Rocha decision, TKO Cote, head kick KO of "Immortal" and most recently decisioned Iaquinta in Ottawa.

That cowboy fight is going to be a blood bath. Assuming some how Cowboy could pull off the victory, hope he finally has a chance at that Conor fight he has been wanting for a while now.

Why wouldn’t Tyron deserve a title shot? He looked off in his fight with Usman.

Tyron, Colby, Leon Edwards have legitimate claims to the title. Jorge is on a lil streak but we’re acting like WW isn’t deep. And he didn’t lose to wonderboy and Maia.

If Stipe or JJ can get rematches off vicious knock outs...

Justin finally getting a big name fight. Happy for him.

Woodley has zero claim to a title shot and if Colby beats lawler he would in my eyes deserve it more than Jorge. But it would just be those two

Woodley got dominated for 5 rounds and looked off because usman was better than him in every faucet. Let woodley get a good win and then he’s back in it

TWood is def at least another dominant win away from another shot. Maybe winner of Nate/Pettis, Colby/Robbie loser or Edwards/RDA winner. Depending on what they do with Masvidal or Colby if he gets a finish the WW picture could be a logjam for a minute.

Doesn't it hurt the ufc if people have to get that dumb espn+ app first so they can order a ppv? I'm thinking many don't want it even if it is only $5 or whatever annual deal they're running.
