"The Last Dance" Michael Jordan & Chicago Bulls Docuseries

I respect the hell out of the Bad Boys. They went through a prime Magic, a prime Bird and a burgeoning Michael. Going back to back in that era is special. They were an errant Zeke pass away from playing in four straight finals in that era. All respect. All time team...

They did not go THROUGH a PRIME Magic and Bird though. Revisionist history completely.

I am still not sure I would say Magic was in his prime, I think that was the start of the descent. But that is subjective. He was still very good at that point either way.

Yea Boston was definitely done.
He wasnt goatee magic but he was still considered a top 5 player up to 1990. I hated MJ only because he was considered the golden child of the nba. Big nique fan after 88 contest snub smh since I was a weak 2 foot jumper I moved to clyde (jordan west).....I just could not jump on the bandwagon.
Rocked with Detroit until 1990 finals.....those blazers years were fun/heartbreaking....the magic ball roll in 1991 still stings

I think "Prime Magic" was between '85-'89. If he didn't go down in that last Finals against Detroit, it probably would've been another 7-game battle.

They lost to Magic and Co when Zeke had a bum ankle and beat them the following year. One might say the Celtics were at the end of their run but Magic certainly wasn't.

at the same time though there was a reason they were called the bad boys. touched up on it in the documentary when rodman was booed in the all star game for being part of the pistons squad. like i get it, it was physical during that era but there is a line you cross being physical and playing dirty and they earned that rep and the fans and players responded. aint nobody like a dirty team/player.

Laimbeer had to be trolling with that "we got old" excuse for the Bulls sweeping them. Every player on that Bulls squad (besides maybe Scott Williams & BJ) was around the same age as the Pistons. He knows good TV, and stoking up nostalgia by kicking up dust from this rivalry is gold.

I thought the Bad Boy pistons were great for the NBa
In a sense that you had this one franchise that the majority of the league hated.

but it was my beloved New York Knicks that put the final nail in their coffin in 1992 when we beat them 3-1. They wouldn’t make the playoffs again until 1996.

You're right. Too many wars. One thing I will agree with Jalen and Zeke about, MJ wasn't the only person getting his tail beaten. In the 80s, you go to the paint too many times, you get hammered. On a side note..as physical as the Bad Boys were, were they THAT more physical than the 90s Knicks....Ewing, Oakley, Mason, Harper, Starks, Anthony? That was a very physical squad that would beat the hell out of people.

The Knicks were a very physical team. They were a branch off that tree. But, they weren't as vicious as Detroit. Every team competing in the East hated Detroit equally. The league started clamping down on a lot of that physicality after '91. A few more techs were dished out for that type of play.

Yeah, not a fan of the tactic if defense isn't working then they'll just hit people in the face.

The Knicks played a physical brand of defense, but they weren't out there trying to maim people and end careers like Laimbeer was and that's a huge difference.

I could watch this all day...

Skipped a bunch of pages because the thread moves too fast.

But the documentary showed Jordan shooting around in Bordeaux 7s while the documentary timeline was still prior to the Bulls 1st championship.

Did they mess the years up? Am I missing something?
