I think the way that soccer player and kap took a knee last time was a much more respectful way to protest then to just sit on the bench behind everyone like he did before

"Respectful" :lol :lol :lol

Stop it.

**** having respect for a flag that represents a country with the moral fabric of the USA.

You sound eerily close to those who care more about a "nation", which is just a series of laws and government, than actual people.

How about the country finds some "respect" for blacks?

yeah the 15th anniversary of 9/11 might not be the best place to do that

Don't care what day it is and I had family and friends lost in 9/11.

The message is much more important.

Honestly though, by sitting I understand the message they want to send, but it's also signs of playing sheep. Kaep did it first, so other players just want to follow suit for reaction purposes.

As a team they should be reaching out to troubling neighborhoods in Seattle. As a team they should lend a hand the state of Washington in the more struggling cities. They already could be doing this, I personally don't know.

Sitting as a team Week 1, on 9/11 is for shock value IMO.

The irony is palpable at this point.

Also, I'll never understand why some folks insist on being the arbiter of how POC are supposed to protest against transgressions this country has levied against them for centuries.

Hop off. Just my personal opinion. Gives a strong solidarity message along with it. Gives off stronger vibe imo to take a knee out in front then hanging in the back. This country is great. It has many ****** up problems and all that but I see beautiful things from ALL people on a daily basis. I support the changes trying to be made and applaude the effort. Dont tell me what I am or what I believe.

They already are doing all those community things.

Seahawks and Wilson specifically are one of if not the most active team in the community.

The whole team sitting sends a message that sends exponential shockwaves in a way that all of that doesn't.

The conversation needs to be continued every waking day until we move forward as a nation towards empathy, understanding and equality for all people living here.

Just look at some of y'all in this thread that are worried about the act more than the actual issue of black people being kiled en masse by police among the myriad of other racial issues.

So no, it's not shock value.

A lot of people are going to be tight if that happens. Do it! Seahawks, Do it!

I lost an aunt on 9/11, and this wouldn't bother me on bit.

I answered your post, I don't even know you from any other member. Don't get defensive because I'm calling your bs.

Heed what was said, like I just said you sound eerily close to those people.

They don't have to protest in a way that's good for you.

& this country is far from "great" when you compare it to any other 1st world country, that narrative is tired.

Maybe it's great for you as a white male but your experience isn't universal.

Random but can't wait til the Browns trade their first pick and the Eagles first pick for Watson next year. Hue is gunna be stunting.

Hahahaha, no way in hell the whole team sits. How many white players are on that team? No way can I see Russell, some linemen and kickers sitting.

I prefer actually sitting down than kneeling. It pisses them off more.

Again they can protest any way they want. Thats why I said IMO. What bs you speaking on? Also where you get this info on other first world country's social stances on different ethnic groups? You talking about places like france where if as a muslim woman you wear a burkini on the beach the police will come and force you to take it off and even fine you? Or maybe your talking about the very prevalent neo nazis in germany. Idk maybe youre talking about Canada they seem alright. Either way theres bad evrywhere and some good too. Of course major changes need to take place but while Ill acknowledge the bad Im going to act on the positives I see everyday. When you focus too much on 1 thing thats all you see.
