Did Chip Kelly win back some urban points with his defense of Kaepernick?
Thanks for bringing this up, I forgot to earlier.

If Chip is gonna get slandered for the perception that he's a racist...I think he should get credit for how he's dealt with the Kap situation. Especially since the guy who hired him (Baalke) wants Kap out so bad that he's feeding rhetoric to his media butt buddies so they could slander Kap.

Chip could've easily avoided it or kept it to football. Or even gave a tepid endorsement of Kap. Not only did he strongly defend Kap, but he even brought it back to the main issues at hand.

Caught me by surprise, but if we're gonna keep it 100 on him then he gets props for how he's handling a real sensitive topic.
but even back when the accusations were made, my argument was looking at the circumstances it was difficult to really really jump down dude's throat..

obviously when accusations of racism are made, they should NOT be taken lightly.. and obviously none of us know these people personally.. but we do know a few ideas of some things about them

I think it takes some big ones to bring john carlos in to speak with not only your football team, but your college football team.. impressionable dudes, who most coaches just keep it extremely simple and just want the kids to stay out of trouble and win

also wasn't sure, desean Jackson and lesean McCoy would be my authority on the nauseous of an individual's actions being a detriment to their overall character

hell from what I gather after the whole experience with chip and the eagles.. dude was just a different dude and that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way all the way up to the owner, which ultimately lead to him getting fired

so I don't know if there ever really was an issue of race.. just more so a misunderstanding of someone's actions, not realizing well they pull that crap with everyone (including the HNIC)

Unfortunately this isn't how it's going to play out. People are quick to throw of the "racist" word any chance they get but have a hard time giving credit when it's due.

or maybe chip was never a "racist" and just hated dealing with McCoy & Jackson.

Chip Kelly gained points in my book.

What other coach has even said anything thoughtful on it?

Even black coaches have been mum.

It's so funny when pundits and commentators say the "Browns are in rebuild mode". Rebuild of WHAT? Them boys been back since 1999 and what, one or two playoff appearances? One Browns reporter on NFL network said "Draft better...they're still a young team, etc". It's hilarious :lol

Clevelands biggest issue (like most franchises) is lack of patience.

They lack talent and patience :lol
And terrible management
And that equates to never making the playoffs
